The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

In all honesty Vandy did a good job on the OC hire.

Meh. Just ask Doug Mathews what happens to the careers of good coordinators who go to Vanderbilt.

1989 Tennessee Volunteers (Doug Mathews as DC):

Colorado St. W 17-14
UCLA W 24-6
Duke W 28-6
Auburn W 21-14
Georgia W 17-14
Alabama L 30-47
LSU W 45-39
Akron W 52-9
Ole Miss W 33-21
Kentucky W 31-10
Vanderbilt W 17-10
Arkansas W 31-27
Allowed 18.1 ppg, 23rd best in the nation.

1990 Vanderbilt Commodores (Doug Mathews as DC):

SMU L 7-44
LSU W 24-21
Alabama L 28-59
Syracuse L 14-49
Auburn L 6-56
Georgia L 28-39
Ole Miss L 13-14
Kentucky L 21-28
Army L 38-42
Wake Forest L 28-56
Tennessee L 20-49
Allowed 41.5 ppg, 106th in the nation; Mathews fired along with rest of staff.

Hey! Vandy....

Maybe Harbaugh should give Mason a call to be his DC at Michigan since that would probably be a better job than the HC at Vandy

Mason is going to serve as his own DC next year and call the plays.

As if the guy needed anything else to confuse him during games.

Someone should post (over there) that there is a rumor that Mason is leaving to accept the DC position at Michigan....

The thought came from another poster on another thread, but it would be great to see the reaction.....

Yea I know. The hire in and of itself was ok, but, like I said, it won't amount to anything. Vanderbilt is where coordinators go to die.

Very telling that there is not even a thread on their boards regarding Mason being HC and DC. Is there another HC at any other major program that does both jobs? This dude was so lost this past year, I can't wait to see the debacle 2015 is gonna be. The meltdown continues !

hahaha...wait a sec....hahaha

I love threads like these on their forums.
"Iowa fans would've showed up in droves if they were playing a more interesting opponent." I've got news for him, Iowa could've played the New England Patriots and they still wouldn't have had anybody show up. And of course we all know that his thought process isn't true, because if it was, the opposing team's fanbase wouldn't swamp Vanderbilt Stadium for every home game they have.

Vandymaniacs are completely delusional.

They project like no other fanbase.

If Tennessee isn't an interesting opponent, what the hell does that make Vandy?

Vandymaniacs are bragging about their quarterback commitment Kyle Shurmer being Scout MVP in the Semper Fi Bowl.

That idiot named Biltmore is a prime example of the type of delusional and paranoid poster that frequents Candymania. I envision that board being nothing but a bunch of 40-60 year old angry men sitting around fuming and who are angry and bitter at everything in life.

What is comical is that the king of idiots, Don Yates, allows the Candy posters to belittle and use personal attacks on UT posters but bans any opposing fan with the slightest personal attack. He's the worst moderator of any board I've ever seen. Bar none. I guess he has to keep the 23 people happy that are stupid enough to have paid for a subscription over there.
