tOSU 247 writer got a little different perspective today:

"I'm still evaluating schools," Allen stated. "I'm still committed to the 'Dawgs, but everyone has heard about Mike Bobo and Will Friend [leaving for Colorado State]. That had a little impact, but I think I'm going to stay a Dawg until the end."

Georgia: "Mark Richt is a great man. Before I found out Coach Friend was leaving, he was my dude. Overall though, the 'Dawgs, they're just a great program and it's just great being there. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to play for them."

With all that in mind, what are the chances Allen sticks with his pledge to UGA?
"I'd say it's about 75, maybe 80-percent," he told 247Sports. "The one thing that could make me change my decision is trust between the coaches. Just finding out who the new o-line coach will be and if it's somebody I want to play for or somebody I'm not too fond of, stuff like that."

you shouldn't be sad there aren't many people better than Paul Fortenberry and Brent Hubbs; many rivals site leaders are hacks those two are not

Patrick Allen: Easily the most imposing offensive lineman in attendance, the 6-foot-5, 286-pound prospect was impressive today and moving the defensive line at will at times.
Allen has good feet for a player his size and is active with his hands. The thing that makes him the most impressive is his competitive nature and nasty streak, two things he wasn't afraid to show during the morning and afternoon at Fullerton College.

Thing is, I don't recall Fortenberry or Hubbs ever spinning. They are both conservative when giving their takes. Good or bad. Fortenberry has said even when Allen said he was definitively staying with UGA a couple of weeks ago, that he was still contacting UTs coaching staff. I guess we will see.

I think you will find that your statement is incorrect come Sunday night, if he's still announcing. PFort said the Vols have momentum.

Whenever you hear them saying, "The Vols were gaining traction, were making up ground, etc….it is putting a spin on what happened to not say that we came up short on a player.

The conservative nature of the VQ guys is to not bream news until they have it down 100% or have the UTAD's permission to break the news.

I think you are wrong on that one my friend. They have on many occasions stated that UT has come up short, or has been a little too late in the process on a recruit in the past. If they think UT doesn't have a chance, they will state it and they are very conservative on their predictions.

Fort didn't say gaining traction, he said momentum that may be too much for UGA to overcome. That sounds very positive coming from someone that is very conservative with those kinds of statements. Generally Hubbs and Fort have a completely different tone when UT is going to end up on the short end of the stick.
