I liked this from that ESPN article:

Now Dobbs has two weeks of bowl practice where he’s getting those extra reps. But rather than solely focusing on his own shortcomings, he’s working more on his timing with the wide receivers and understanding what the offensive line is doing on every play and making sure the offense is on the same page.

“We’re just continuing to grow together as a unit,” Dobbs said. “That’s what the whole offense is working on right now.”

Timing has been a big issue. Let's hope these 15 practices has improved it.

15 practices doesn't seem like a lot but you figure probably 8 to 10 of those are.just getting reps which is great for this team. Specially for this young team it keeps guys focused and there's less down time till spring ball... IMO, this is a big step forward for the team as a whole and will lead to a better 15 season then what would have been had say we missed a bowl

I think they only get 21 or so in spring, so it's almost a full season.

My wife had the last seizure that basically paralyzed her last December 18...our Christmas was filled with her well meaning but overbearing family that tried to take over the raising of my daughter among other issues...When Rich Rollins passed, giving money and interacting with other posters kept me sane and able to brunt those final two months of her life...you never have enough time...it dulls a little bit, but holidays are the roughest. Praying for you buddy.

I thought about you/your wife recently. You are still in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine what you went/are going through. I can't fathom losing my wife. The only thing I can say is that the Savior will not put you through anything that you can't handle with Him at your side.

Isn't Spring practice only 15 practices? And some of those are without pads.

Merry Christmas RF faithful. I hope you each have a blessed holiday season. I pray that peace and comfort comes to those that are alone, hurting, or separated from thei loved ones. God bless you all.

Not cancer, but I lost my wife in April of this year. She was also 42, and passed of cardiovascular disease (cardiac arrythmia). We were married almost 23 years (I am also 42). I pray this gets easier because it still hurts to breathe right now.

Also, all of you please know that you re in my prayers constantly.

Sorry for the sad post. And, I hope all of my Vol brothers and sisters have a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays.

Prayers for you my friend. My wife and I are 34/35 and I can't imagine only having another 7 years with her. My thoughts are with all that have lost their soulmates this year. It is always to soon to lose your soulmate. The only comfort is knowing they are with Jesus and you will be with them again some day.

Man...I don't know what to say. I know you and I used to go around and around on here and maybe I've said some hurtful things but I would like to apologize for anytime I've questioned your sanity or character, Butchna.
As a young, married father of a 2 year old girl, I can't imagine how tough that must've been on you.

I'm not a religious person by any means but I'll send a prayer up for you and your family. I sincerely hope you and your daughter have the Merriest Christmas ever. You both deserve it. :hi:

Agreed Eazy. When I read his story a while back, I was like Holy Cow! Butchna can be a snarky SOB but his situation reminds us just how trivial this board --- and UT football in general --- are in the bigger scheme.

Hang in there butchna. Take care of that little girl.

It should also be noted that he's a true freshman and, under better circumstances and on a better team, his production, or lack thereof as a freshman, would be of little significance.

I get what you're saying but I disagree with the underlying principle.

I'd rather keep him than have him transfer.

What I said and what you said aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, I think there are so many factors that go into an individual players development, that you can't assume a kid couldn't have done better elsewhere.

Sometimes it takes three years for the light to go on. Without being close to the individual player, it's really hard to say.

I've gone too far on here...way too many times. My daughter says I get a look on my face and she knows I'm on Volnation. FWIW I delete and rewrite a lot more than I did when I started, before I hit the submit. You get in the middle of a sports point and you forget the other poster is working as hard as yourself trying to take care of the important things in life...but we enjoy this escape and rooting for our team...that's why we're on here. Thanks for the fun guys.

I love all you maniacs here in the RF. Just like family...there are some rough days and a tiny(yeah right lol) bit of bickering, but at the end of the day we are all Vols and love this team. If there's ever anything I can do for any of you knuckleheads I would do it in a heartbeat. Prayers for each and every one of you and Merry Christmas!!

Ctrl+a delete, I use it a lot, not as much as I should.

I just wanted to take the time before all the festivities start to wish my VOLNATION family a Very Safe And Merry Christmas! Look forward to another year of hanging out with you all. :hi:

Here's to beating Iowa then signing a #5ish recruiting class in 2015.
