Been some good news and some bad news on this night before the night before Christmas. UGA losing all these staff members is awesome and could really help us secure Pat Allen. I also like seeing that UF had such an underwhelming OC hire. Hopefully none of our coaches get poached and we just might make quite the racket next season.

On the bad news side: my grandfather went to get a second opinion at Vandy and the mass that has been growing on the side of his face is a squamous cancer. It appears to have grown into the pitituary gland and th jaw bone so when the tumor is removed the chance for severe damage to the tissue and nerves of the face is likely. Please keep my grandparents in your prayers.

Man I hate cancer.

Amen to that brother. Lost my first wife to cancer at the young age of 42.

Ugh. Prayers sent.

Not cancer, but I lost my wife in April of this year. She was also 42, and passed of cardiovascular disease (cardiac arrythmia). We were married almost 23 years (I am also 42). I pray this gets easier because it still hurts to breathe right now.

Also, all of you please know that you re in my prayers constantly.

Sorry for the sad post. And, I hope all of my Vol brothers and sisters have a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays.

Man I hate cancer.

Sorry to hear this. Prayers for your grandfather and family as well. Kind of puts this game we all love in perspective.

Sparty DC Pat Narduzzi will be Pitt's new HC.

Big time hire for them imo.

Yep also could be another oh crap he left us scenario if he ends up being as good as everyone thinks. You have to take that chance but if he succeeds early some major programs will be calling

Prayers to your family and all the others that are sick and suffering. I know all too well about cancer and it is a terrible disease. Have them try to stay positive and make sure you let them know you love them.

These guys are picking Iowa but the kicker is that they don't even have their facts straight about Dobbs saying he did well in cleanup duty last year. I didn't know that never taking any prior backup snaps before being forced to play against Bama and start the rest of the season which included then-national title contender Auburn and eventual SEC East winner Mizzou was cleanup duty.

They predict it will be all special teams and somehow managed to portray Medley as bad despite him being a true fricking freshmen.

They also downplay Iowa's OT and probably messed up their analysis of them as well. When I see articles that get such basic stuff wrong, I wonder how the hell these guys have jobs.

It literally takes a Google search and 10 minutes of research to get the basic facts right about a team.

Major injuries, strengths and weaknesses, and any big storylines that happened over the course of the year. Apparently, these writers are too lazy for such exhaustive research.

My wife had the last seizure that basically paralyzed her last December 18...our Christmas was filled with her well meaning but overbearing family that tried to take over the raising of my daughter among other issues...When Rich Rollins passed, giving money and interacting with other posters kept me sane and able to brunt those final two months of her life...you never have enough time...it dulls a little bit, but holidays are the roughest. Praying for you buddy.

Honestly it was so negative about both teams that it's like they were pissed off they had to write the article.

Holidays are always the worst times, and it never gets easier. It's been over ten years since my dad died and about five since my little brother died and during family gatherings when we hold prayer there are still tears shed. You can never make up for those missing faces.

Haha can't argue with that :)

It makes me sad to see the state of journalism now.

Google rewards websites that publish more content over quality content, which is why you get half-assed "analysis" on sites like SDS that are nothing more than 200 word recaps of something most fans already know.

Sports journalism is ridiculously oversaturated and writers with the chops to create insightful pieces are being overshadowed by hacks who write clickbait.

So true. I rarely read them any more. I just decided it best to study and educate myself than depend on hacks. When I look at media I look for specific information/data that matters and ignore all the conjecture and gibberish. I read and analyze the more informative posts on here as well as a couple other sites. Pretty well covers what I need to know with our Vols as well as CFB in general.
