Their 247 board has a post from a guy saying IF they get that UAB RB that they will have the best backfield in the SEC haha WTF. That kid may even end up at Indiana anyways. Delusional. They have the speed of a bad big ten team with no playmakers.

I don't know if you saw it, but every two star recruit over there is compared to Jordan Matthews and was All SEC first team in waiting.

So now if the recruit has a low rating and offers from the Nebraska School of the Blind and Subway University they are a "diamond in the rough."

A lot of good players are two star players. I bet most of Georgia Tech's football team is made up of two star players.

At this point, the best Vandy fans can hope for is that Butch Jones gets fat and lazy in 20 years, gets fired, we hire Will Muschamp's son followed by Mark Richt's son and they hire another once in a generation coach. Then they MIGHT be beat us again.

A lot of good players are. And a lot of four and five star players end up being a bust.

But to do what Jordan Matthews did isn't your typical recruit regardless of star rating. But Vandy continues to use him as an example for each and every recruit that is passed over by the majority of programs and taken in by the Vanderbilt Home for Wayward Football Recruits. "Rankings don't matter! Look at Matthews!"

Coaching has a lot to do with that as well. And I have serious doubts Mason has that ability.

It's cool that the level of players for GT is increasing. In the years past they had lowly ranked recruiting classes and quite a few not highly recruited players.

I mean honestly, how do you fire both OC and DC without any plan to replace them, much less replace them with better alternatives. WhoTF would go there at this point???? Only to get fired with the rest of the staff a year later.

It was a few years back on VM. I'm not sure the posts even exist anymore. On their basketball forum, they were talking about some secret preseason game they played with UNC and they beat them at a neutral, empty gym. And their forum was the only place I ever heard about it. You'd think as basketball crazy UNC is they would be discussing it, but there was nothing on any Tar Heel board either.

I can't remember if it was here or another Vol site but the whichever place the basketball forum was talking about it.
