My take on the current Titans QB situation is this....If the Titans are not for sure sold on Mariota or Winston being a franchise QB then DON'T (for the love of all that's holy) REACH for one. You got Mettenberger in the draft (who has been serviceable) for next to nothing, bring in a cheaper Vet in free agency to push him next year, and position yourself for a QB in 2016 in the draft or free agency. There are no really good options in free agency this year (and that includes Cutler) and to reach on a QB in the draft or pay too much in free agency would be a panic move that sets the franchise back even further IMO

With all that said, I think the Titans should trade the pick for a later 1st rounder and more later round picks. They need help EVERYWHERE.

I agree when your team struggles build the lines 1st and everyone on the roster will look better. Look at Seattle.

Regarding Helm: I've talked to some people here in IL who know him well. Great kid, will do very well in life. Sorry it didn't work out in Tennessee, but no hard feelings. Easy kid to root for.

Sometimes people don't fit where they thought they would.

I don't understand why more teams don't sell out on their lines and a top RB more than these QB reaches.

I'm a panthers guy not a titans fan but you guys would be fools to take Winston or Mariota. Aside from Wilson the run oriented passer is utter fools gold. We have Cam Newton one of the most durable versions and it just rarely works. Build a team and any competent QB can get you to a SB. Trent Dilfer approves this message.

There is no Andrew Luck in this draft. Build from inside out unless there is an Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning.

My care for the titans is close to nothing.

Actually, other than fantasy football and wanting Vols' alumni to do well, my care for the NFL in general is very low.

College football and, in particular of course, the Tennessee Vols is where it's at for me.

Go Vols! That is all.

I think a lot of times they out think themselves regarding value.

Right now, everyone thinks you can get a quality RB for cheap, and build your lines in the late rounds.

No one wants to sink high 1st round money into a position that gets beat on like RB.

Mariota is not the type of QB that Wiz generally likes. He loves tall pocket passer statues with the big arm to run his offense, at least according to Mark Howard, Frank Wycheck, and Kevin Ingram of the Wake Up zone. I don't know all that much about Wiz, but that does seem to be his preference at previous stops.

So then, Tyler Bray gets traded from KC to the Titans and someone decides to divide by zero...

NFL lacks the level of passion and pride and rivalries of college football. Nothing like it.

That and the regular season is just so blah. I will watch every minute of the NFL playoffs, but have only watched about 6 hours total this regular season.

I've watched over 10hrs a week of live college football and will watch every second of the entire bowl season/playoff....so CFB model is winning so far.

I'm having a tough time deciding on my fantasy football lineup for this week. I want to get y'alls opinion. Should I start Big Ben at home vs the Chiefs or Matt Ryan on the road vs the Saints. I have LeVeon Bell and Antonio Brown so starting Big Ben sets me up with a lot of potential. But the Cheifs' defense is much better than the Saints'.

Also, I've got Emmanuel Sanders, Julien Edelman, and Golden Tate. I've gotta choose 2 of the 3.

What are y'alls thoughts?

My thoughts are you have a good team. I would start Big Ben

The falcons suck on the road

So what happened on Basilio's show yesterday? I saw a bunch of activity on twitter about it and read his blog today. Looks like he was spreading "reports" that Butch may be mistreating players???

Anyone catch the chow or have the break down? I don't have time to listen to it today...just curious...looks like a big uproar.

Which is why I'm hesitant to start Matt Ryan. I'm definitely starting Bell and I want to start Eddie Lacy but he's questionable and the Packers don't mind using James Starks if they need to. I've got LeSean McCoy on my bench but I'm in a PPR league and McCoy doesn't catch anything out of the backfield plus, Polk and Sproles have been getting the goalline work.

Todd Mcshay has Mariota going to TB and Winston going to the Titans.

Please no

I'm done with the Titans if they draft Winston. Doing so will be an act of complete and utter incompetence, IMO. On the field, he doesn't display the talent of a Top 10 QB, off the field...

At best, he's immature and far from displaying the kind of leadership that is required by an NFL QB.

At worst, he's a criminal that's been protected and coddled by a corrupt University administration and Head Coach on an inevitable path towards self-destruction.
