Dave Steckel was named Missouri State HC today. He was the DC at Missouri and had been with Pinkel for 14 years. This has to help us a little bit.

Those guys are slow and unathletic. They better play disciplined football or things could get ugly quick for Hawkeye nation. We have a significant speed advantage.

I think we will see A LOT of QB draws and jet sweeps to Pig and Pearson. We can probably win this game just by exploiting their lack of speed at the LB position.

That's pretty big. Without their super experienced, disciplined defense, they're not worth much. Wonder how much it will affect them.

At Mizzou, under Pinkel (like Bama under Saban) they don't rebuild - they reload. Mizzou is just in another stratosphere of football accomplishment. Any negative affect will be virtually imperceptible to the untrained eye.

Besides, with Maty Mauk gearing up for a run at the Heisman, a lack of a defense wouldn't even matter.

Or he just announced an extension with MNF until 2020. He is making a lot of money and gets plenty of time with family. Still kind of surprises me that he doesn't want to get back into coaching.

Lol. I remember VN melted down when he wore a red tie during Grudenmania. The only thing more ridiculous than Gruden coaching at UT is Gruden coaching at Arkansas.

Not MzT, but he has a fracture in his knee. Don't know specifics, but do know that he is done until next season, including no spring ball. Prayers out to him and his family, as he's crushed he can't play in the bowl.

Man, I hate that for the big guy. Hope it doesn't involve ligaments, bones heal faster. Mzterry, if you're lurking, y'all are in my thoughts and prayers.

DB loses Coleman, adds Amadi (probable) and other freshman depth = upgrade

LB will be elevated more with the progress of Weatherd and JRM into big time playmakers. JRM has already shown what he can do. Weatherd can be special though.

Guys,

I am in NY and had no clue the Heisman dinner was being held here. We came in and I went to buy water in gift shop and as I come out, I am surrounded by the good Heisman winners. I got to talk to Tony Dorsett for five minutes. We talked about Pitt GT I was on sideline as a kid watching him play and talked about Johnny Majors and he was great. Then a friend of his pulled out the Heisman dinner program they had and Tony signed it and gave it to me. Got to meet and talk to the old ball coach and told him where I was from and was a vol fan. He was wanting his elevator to get their by then.

Johnny Rogers introduced himself to me as Archie griffin and we all broke up laughing when I said it was better to be a cornhusker than a buckeye.

Some other guy who was older and I am going to have to figure it out but he was kissing a woman as doors opened on an elevator before all the other happened. I asked what was going on and he told me what it was. I said I did not care much for it since Woodson won it and our boy manning should've won it. He said hell yeah you got that right. They were stupid not to pick manning.

You come to town for 10 minutes and look what happens. I've lived here since 1998 and the best cool story bro moment was seeing Pauly freakin Shore one night. Guess some guys have all the luck...
