Actually for CPF it is a huge game. With all of the coaching defections, if he gets a drubbing from Wisconsin, he will wearing Lloyd Carr's 2007 shoes in 2008.

Every game is important. The bowl game brings added attention, practice time, and revenue to the University. And, I like to see my team play well and win.

2005 is the year of the exception. Anything that anybody says that is encouraging can be negated by the fact that UT was #2 in the pre-season polls and finished 5-6 in 2005. It was not the norm, but everyone always refers to it as if a losing record comes every other year. Lets please forget about 2005 already.

It's not . . . but IMO psychologically 10 wins and a bowl win is a big deal going into the offseason.
You're telling me that the difference between 9 wins and 10 is going to have a real carryover? Please.

That's great to use that example and everything, but you know as well as I do that everybody would rather go into Signing Day and the offseason with a win.
I would rather win the game than lose it..

Miami goes into Signing Day on a four game losing streak. Let's see how they do. Notre Dame had three whole wins. Let's see what kind of class they snare. Oklahoma suffered one of the most embarrassing losses in their program's history in their bowl last season. That really killed them on Signing Day and had an awful carryover into this season.

There ya go Demonte. At least he doesn't have to worry about finger pointing if Tennessee loses the bowl game.

So a really good showing against a good (not great) Wisconsin team does nothing to help in the following season? That's rediculous, you always want to end the season on a good note. I'm not saying its going to help with recruiting, but 10-4 record and a New Years Day Bowl will help. Florida beat Iowa in the Outback Bowl the year before they won the National Championship.
