'15 TN DE Dylan Jackson (former UT commit)

Guys let this thread go, I've posted a lot of good nuggets in the Phillips, Walker and Kirkland Jr. threads.

let's focus on all the good happening!

Quite unfortunate to lose in state talent. I hope this was a case of recruiting needs over him but Jackson has been a good commit for us this past year. I wish the young man the utmost luck, except the Saturdays we see him, and wish he woulda stuck with it.

I didn't know he was being recruited as a OT...in fact when I brought up that he would be a great candidate for it a few months ago on here, I got attacked like a perv at a toys for tots exchange.

It hurts when Tennessee can't get the players in their own backyard.

I sort of agree, but if we sign the top 17 in-state players to get Jackson, then we don't have many spots left for what we might actually need.

I don't have all the info on what exactly happened to cause/encourage/enable him to look elsewhere, but like the rest of you, I have my suspicions.

We gotta get who we gotta get.

Good Luck to him.

What happened to the days when we just lied to kids and them moved their arse in August camp.
All jokes aside not sure why some of you get so offended when kids leave the state. If he wants to play DE and he thinks LSU will let him, then let him go.

DJ's official statement to VQ. Best of luck to him! Hope this means great news is OTW with Kyle Phillips!

"I want to thank the University of Tennessee, the people there and the fans for the opportunity and support during this recruiting process, which can be stressful but I also know is a blessing. I have decided to go in a different direction with my recruitment and will take the next 2 months to figure it out," Dylan Jackson

Dylan is really a great kid. However, I believe that if he wants to play and start at DE he will be better off going to Stanford which may end up being his final choice. I'm one of those that's seen him play that thinks his future is at OT if he's wanting to play at the next level. I think he will decide between LSU and Stanford. If he picks LSU he will probably end up on the O-Line just like he would at Tennessee. JMO

Two words: Kyle Phillips

We upgraded. And it means we should get Ugo, too.

Two more words: Double win

He was going to be a tackle, and will be a tackle wherever he goes. Carlos confirmed that our coaches told him that. He had a lot of potential there, and now getting another tackle became that more important. Its definitely not a double win, Kyle and Jackson have no effect on each other.

So he's a highly rated DE prospect because of his potential as an offensive tackle? Get real. Just because he's tall does not mean he is custom fit to be a tackle. Maybe our coaches wanted him there, but he will be a DE in college, not a tackle.

Recruiting services are as clueless as we are. Get real
