Of course, fans are disappointed. These kids took up four spaces-- spaces that other players desperately wanted at positions that UT needs for depth. So it's not all about them. They had many months to make an important decision that led to a commitment. Breaking it adversely affects the team, the coaches and the other players. So yes, they should go if they don't want to be here, but they let a lot of people down. I hope they go quickly.
They are a bunch of whining babys. That got their feelings hurt because a better player is starting in front of them.F them we don't need whiny mamas boy cry baby's.If they can't handle the heat get the F out of the kitchen.

What you guys hearing on Thig to UNC as DC?

Their site has him on the hot board but many ot the plugged in Heels believe he would only be a position coach or co-DC there.

Asking because it also relates to UF DC Durkin who was linked to a rumored interview with LF.

Please don't destroy me..just want info to take back to UF boards. Lol

Heard that he was down the list but would more likely be considered for a position coach and not DC. He's in line to get a raise here and from what I understand he really likes working for Butch and with the others on the defensive staff. The kids he's recruited here seem to love him, don't know if that would have any effect on him staying here or not. Being and feeling wanted is important to some people.
People on the RF are still waiting on your answer about "coming out of the fan closet" and being a full-time Vol fan. :)

I agree that we are weeding out the weak. My point is that it's not all about them. While they skip off to wherever it is they think they want to be now, UT is left, once again, filling in with freshmen. The "me, me, me" mentality of some hurts others. But that's life.

I've seen some people say that if we get Ugo, we won't get Justin Martin. And that if we get Phillips, we won't get Deandre Walker. Some people also think that Ugo and Phillips are a package deal. So here's my question: Would you rather have Ugo and Phillips OR Martin and Walker?

I think I read somewhere that Thigpen made more as LB's coach here than UNC's DC made last year. He is about to get a raise too.

For everyone freaking out about the departures look at what is left of the 2014 recruiting class and tell me it still doesn't look elite. We knew there were going to be a bunch of defections this offseason due to the class we are bringing in. IMO I am glad we are losing young guys who didn't pan out than losing more JR's or SO's that have been in the program for a few years. We need some veterans on the roster next year and the 2014 class had a lot of room to lose players and it not hurt us over the long run.

DL and RB are the only ones that look lite now (obv QB) but we have big time players coming in at both of those positions that can contribute day 1 in 2015.

NOTHING to worry about IMO.

2014 Recruiting Class

RB - Jalen Hurd - Huge Impact
WR - Von Pearson - Huge Impact
- Josh Malone - Solid Impact
- Vic Wharton - Small Impact
TE - Ethan Wolf - Solid Impact
- Neiko Creamer - RS
OL - Jashon Robertson - Huge Impact
- Coleman Thomas - Solid Impact
- Dontavious Blair - RS
- Ray Raulerson - RS
- Charles Mosely - RS
DL - Derek Barnett - Massively Huge Impact
- Owen Williams - Solid Impact
- Michael Sawyers - RS
LB - Chris Weatherd - Solid Impact
- Cortez McDowell - Solid Impact
- Jakob Johnson - Small Impact
- Elliot Berry - Small Impact
- Dillon Bates - RS
- Gavin Bryant - RS
DB - Todd Kelly Jr. - Huge Impact
- Eman Mosely - Huge Impact
- Rashaun Galden - Solid Impact
- Evan Berry - Solid Impact
- D'Andre Payne - Small IMpact (RS?)
K - Aaron Medley - Huge Impact

Most of the freak out is coming from star gazers that still think that matters after freshman year. Yes we lost three 4 star top 247 players to transfers. However if you were to rerank this class now, E. Mosely, Wolf, Robertson would be 4 star kids instead of 2 and 3 stars. Barnett would be a 5 star instead of 4 star..... Helm, Hendrix and Scott were talented but soft and had a future NFL player in front of them in same class.

I'm still deciding after taking a few unofficial visits to RF.

Decision coming before NSD.

Vols trending.

Wife and daughter CB UT recently.

I'm not seeing any freaking out-- just discussion over people leaving, the reasons prompting their leaving and what impact, if any, it will have on our program.

I see that the Cold Recruiting News post is gone. I disagree with that move. I think it needs to be stickied. I love the idea of separating positive and negative recruiting news. I get excited when I see something in the HRN's page, and it sucks to go there and see decommits. Having one page for positive news, and another for negative, would be kind of cool.
