Without going into too much detail, look for ECU to be the landing spot for Scott.

Good choice, IMO. Solid team and he'll likely be a Day 1 starter there.

I have a problem with it. Football has evolved to where you need multiple players at the very positions these players play. It's not like they won't play.

Example 1998 Lewis, Henry, Bryson all in the backfield. All NFL players

Stephens, too. I believe Stephens then took a redshirt during his sophomore or junior year to separate from Henry. That is how Stephens became the #1 (and dynamic) back in 2001. It worked out great.

We were regularly at the top of the league in those days. Easier to convince kids to be patient and be part of an elite team vs be patient and sneak by vandy to get into a bowl.

Because of our lack of depth for the past five years many of these guys recruited by CBJ and staff came in thinking they would play right away. They were sold this by the staff. Unfortunately, too many had to play, but there was no way that every freshman was going to get major playing time. Staff, from now on will need to modify the sales pitch.

I have no more patience with excuses.

Next. Just move on and get someone with the mental toughness that will get pissed and actually FIGHT for the position.

This. Don't coddle. May sound old school, but that's the only method that works IMO. If you play favorites and placate problem children it only makes it worse and creates even more disunity. If they don't want to do what it takes to be a VFL, adios.

We were very good with Peyton the previous 4 years, but we had only won 1 SEC title. It wasn't like we were winning championships every year. But yes, I agree. Next year will get us started.

Going forward, the pitch might be different, but it was right on the money this year. Playing time was there for those recruits who came in ready to play, competed hard and earned the job.

The cream rises to the top. And some players who discovered they weren't the cream became spilt milk.
