'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

Guys I have seen a lot of football in my life. Been on the sidelines and saw Clowney was around the program in the 90s when Ellis, Little, etc were here. In saying all this I have only seen 2 guy come off the ball as fast as KP. When we do work outs I literally have to tell him Kyle please just go half speed so that the OL guys can benefit from the drill too. Its amazing I tell you, and my emphasis to him has been KP they're signing a world class DL class. You'll play with Big Mc, Tuttle, Picqou for 3 or 4 yrs and there's no way you don't benefit from that. Then I said son you'll have Barnett to work with and learn from and play opposite sides from. Absolutely no way that doesn't equate to 1st round in the end. You're not guaranteed that anywhere else in the country. In the end the hoopla of LSU i think will fade and distance becomes a key and he'll be a VOL so his mom can come watch from time to time.

Get the boom sticks ready............

Nothing worse than having Ole Miss come in and take our instate talent... they practically own Memphis already

Freeze has about a year leg up on Butch. Tennessee will get some mojo back in Memphis when we start winning again (i.e. next year). Fulmer won some battles in Memphis for some guys that contributed. I believe that will come back.

I will try to post a little more as long as the avi has nothing to do with the request. I'm sure the fact that she is actually topless in this pick and that her top is painted on has nothing to do with it as well.

You are correct, Sir. Nothing. To. Do. With. It. At. All.

And Freeze benefited from the Dooley years. Especially in 2012, we will go back to getting most of the players we want out of Memphis.

Dude, you're awesome! You and Buck are the kind of guys TN needs in it's corner in the mid-state. And no doubt any DE has the LOVE the idea of playing with 2 Elite DT's. That means a LOT of one-on-one matchups for the edge guys.

Per Hubbs

Tennessee will host four official visitors this weekend and the list looks like three Vol commitments, Alvin Kamara, Chance Hall and Quinten Dormady, along with Kyle Phillips and look for Phillips to be given a lot of attention.

Phillips has been a top target for the last 20 months for Tennessee and this one seems to be coming down to the wire. LSU and Ole Miss continue to both be factors for the four-star defensive end. Phillips' mother is scheduled to join Kyle on his visit on Saturday as Tennessee continues to try and convince both Knoxville is the right spot for him.

In talking to Kyle over the last few weeks, we continue to believe he hasn't settled on a decision and this weekend's visit will be important in the decision making process. We do believe the in-home visit with Tennessee and Phillips went well and it seems there's more hope with him than there was a few weeks ago. But, as we've said, we don't believe a decision has been made.

I will be joining Kyle this weekend on the OV..... So, I will be in his ear hyping UT!--My cousin who is graduating TSU is also plugging UT! Go Vols! By the way, my aunt said the in house visit went well.

Cuz!!!!!! Stay on him hard about it! All he needs to know is that he's a Tennessean. Not a Mississippian. Not a Louisianan.

GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!!!

I am not a Phillips... I am a Lawrence... lol! But I will keep you all posted as much as I can.... But I will not steal Kyle thunder.... :eek:k:

I have made arrangements for it to be in the mid 50's and sunny all weekend just for Kyle's visit --- so I've already done the heavy lifting -- the rest is up to you and Butch. :)

Thanks,
