Interesting name in Wisconsin HC update in 247.... Coach Z. They listed him as a dark horse candidate that has interest in becoming a HC and loved his time there. Alvarez and players are a big fan of Z from when he was there a few yes ago. they think he will just be an interview guy at the end of the day.

Chryst and Golden appear to be the early top targets and I highly doubt Golden turns it down if offered with the hot seat of Miami burning

I'd like to see Lane Kitten down at "the U". I like it when they are good.

Every said before the season Bamas offense would take a huge step back

Bama never takes a step back. Not when they've had the #1 class in the country 6-7 years in a row and the gap is actually widening between them and #2 in recent years.

They absolutely would not be as good on offense this year if LK was not calling plays. Yes Cooper is great, but he also puts him in a position to get the ball in his hands.

It's really not, Bama had to escape more than once this year(Arky and LSU). Neither of those teams were good this year. Miss State game wasn't a blowout. The Auburn game wasn't either. Once our team settled down we closed that lead we let them jump out to. Their running game also isn't near as dominant as it once was. If Yeldon leaves they will certainly take a larger step back. Henry needs a play blocked perfectly to punish a team. I'm not a believer in his ability to be a feature back. Also I'm very anxious to see the Vols progress on the field next year. The rosters talent wise are quickly becoming even. Our defensive front will be one of the best in the country very soon.

Their yard per game is only up about 20 from last year and points per game is actually down.

Kiffin is a good offensive coordinator--I'm definitely not arguing that. I just don't think he performed any miracles this year. He has a very good mobile QB, two excellent RBs and the best college football player in the country at his disposal.

The scary thing is that this was supposed to be a "down" year for Bama due to normal roster attrition, but it's pretty obvious that talent and depth wise, their down years are better than 99% of teams' peak years.

Every year they get top CBs and every year they end up starting...what happens to 5 star sophomores and juniors down there?

Can someone ask Paul/Brent on VQ to reorder this list from most likely to least likely on chances of these guys being Vols on Feb 4th, 2015, in their opinion.

And then a total number of current commits that aren't signees?

TIA

Why would a 6'4 dude be at a disadvantage at LT?

Answered this once. Guess you did not see it. There are plenty of LT's that are 6'3" to 6'4". It is not that they are not capable. Ole Miss has a 2 deep that is 6'4" and 6'3". Alabama's starter is 6'6". Their backup is 6'3". All I was saying is that many of your elite LT's are over 6'4". Talking about your guys with eventual Pro ball potential. There are exceptions to the rule. It is based on reach more so than height. A longer reach makes you a more effective LT if you know how to use that reach. There are only a few NFL LTs that are 6'4" or smaller. I
heard some announcers talking about it in one of the NFL games this weekend. Thought it was interesting. They just said you generally do not want a LT with less reach and that usually means they need to be bigger than 6'4". For another example look at Arkansas. When it became necessary to replace their LT Dan Hurd who is 6'6" they went with Dan Skipper who is 6'8" to 6'10" depending on who is measuring that day. The reason is the reach though, not the height. Having good footwork of course plays into it too. In general the taller you are the better reach you have. But that is not always true. It is more noticeable in basketball, but some shorter players have a great wingspan. All I was saying was I would like to see a qualified 6'6" guy competing at that spot. By the way, Tiny Richardson and Kendrick are both 6'6". Kendrick has played there some. We know how Tiny did there.

Haha.
I just started a thread discussing this topic here in the RF

SDS just ran an article on what has happened since the last time Tennessee won a bowl game:

What

The author, Jason Hall, hates Tennessee. I'm not sure if anyone saw this, but after the Missouri game, his game recap had the headline "Tennessee Loses to Missouri Because Tennessee is Terrible."

No joke. He quickly changed it after Tennessee fans blew up on him on Twitter.

Dropping this here for anyone who thinks it's even a possibility (surely there aren't many) that Butch Jones can just fahr Mahoney and hire a National Championship Hall of Fame head coach to coach OL.

Phillip Fulmer talks Butch Jones, playoffs, ETSU

Also, Go Bucs.

I've been saying this since we hired Butch, and he started hiring assistant talking about gettin the best staff in the nation. How awesome would that be!
