I know he knew about it. Question is, did the NCAA inform him of any investigation?

If they didn't or investigation hadn't started, I give Hart a pass.

If he knew this was a possibility, big mistake.

It was reported that he did check with them as well as Moorehead State and USM and was told there were no outstanding issues. This all emerged after he was here.

This is what I read, too. Apparently, Hart did his due diligence in vetting Tyndall with his prior coaching stops and the NCAA. He was told that all was well. Very sad if all of this is true, but the NCAA knew he wasn't clear and lied.

Sounds like fun but I'm too chicken. :blush2:

I wanted to try it too until one of my professor's at UT told me his story. He and two other professors on campus were really into it and he had even wrote a book on it. He knew tons about it and said there were 3 places in the world that were considered the safest in the world to jump into the updrafts. He and one of his buddy's were at one of those and his friend jumped off into the updraft and he said it just suddenly stopped. No updraft at all and he went almost straight down. Just like he jumped off the cliff. He was very somber telling the story and said he didn't do it any more after that. Said he still had some friends that did, but after seeing that he just couldn't jump off places that were suppose to be less safe or in that spot again. He still had a couple of pics in his office. Really felt sorry for the guy having to see a friend die like that.

I can't help but feel bad for Michigan. I'm not sure I'd wish what we've been through on anybody.

My take is that many in their fanbase have given up and think you can't win at Michigan anymore (in football anyway). But that's hard to conclude when Michigan State is doing so well.

I think they need to throw the bank at Harbaugh. If they got a name like that, recruits would flock there regardless of the weather and distance from home.

Harbaugh is Michigan's Gruden. He will be at the Raiders when all is said and done. He loves coaching the pros and I doubt he ever goes back to the college game.

Pressure only mounts for Michigan as the other major schools have their guy and the rejections become public.

You have to remember that whoever takes the Michigan job will be their "first choice" and they "really hadn't contacted another coach" before the one that took the job.
I believe that Hart said that Michigan had not contacted the Department about talking to Butch which means that someone representing UM contacted Butch's agent who told them "no" for Butch.

I think Hart should have at least checked with the NCAA about Tyndall prior to the hire. He had a questionable past.

Now, if he did check and the NCAA failed to inform him...

You roll the dice on someone with a "past".

From everything I've read and seen and heard on TV and radio, Hart did check with the NCAA, the SEC and Conference USA about any known current issues with Tyndall and nothing came out.

Just a question. I wonder if the NCAA had been investigating Sou. Miss and were aware of what was going on but hadn't found a connection to CDT but did know that someone on his staff and people in admissions and administration were involved. That would be a reason to tell Hart that they knew nothing on CDT. In this type situation they would have needed to question Tyndall about what he may have known (if anything) about the issues at Sou. Miss.

Hey guys! I just had to skip about 50 pages because I couldn't keep up. But I did clearly see Volatil go all LebVol on the Butch raise issue. Man, I had to keep checking your sideways avi to make sure it was you. I even saw a post where you stated, "let's do the math." Leb has contaminated you.

:)
