I don't think it's a personality clash. When I try to put myself in an 18 year old athlete's shoes, here's what I'm thinking is a bigger possibility: "Man, I'm just as good as Barnett, recruited higher. That should be me racking up all those awards."

The next step is for Hendrix to figure out why that isn't happening. If he realizes it's because he still needs some development then he may be ok but if he thinks it's because coaches didn't give him a chance and won't then he's gone. It's a big decision and an emotional one and I hope he stays but I can see how Barnett's year could make things seem hopeless for Hendrix. How would you feel if you arrived on campus and the other DE in your freshmen class turned out to be Clowney?

Good post. This is it. When your goal is to get to the NFL and the big money - then there is somebody in front of you that is as good as Barnett at the same age/class - I really don't blame him. Another issue is the D. The other side is a Leo or more of a speed rusher in the 4-3. That doesn't fit either. Whatever happens, happens.

Except we didn't hear about playing time per se, we heard he "didn't like Butch" ?

The two aren't necessarily exclusive. If Hendrix feels he's just as good or even better than Barnett, he may feel he's getting a raw deal and blame the coaches. He could also simply be mad at himself (not being as good yet) and blame the coaches. There's a lot that goes into it. Remember this is as much about emotion as logic and much of the time it doesn't make sense outside of whatever emotion is going on - disappointment at suddenly not being the best when you've been the best all your life can produce strange reactions. He could also feel he was lied to even though no one knew how good Barnett would be (everyone thought Hendrix would be the better of the two). And while Hendrix is in college now, he's still a teenager. Not everything makes sense at that age.

I've been flying off an on for several years. I don't even have my private yet. I have everything done accept my long and short cross countries and FAA check ride.

I'm in the same boat. Been flying when I can on and off since 2011. Just have to pass my check ride for my ppl.

I was flying a diamond 40 out of Murfreesboro but now I'm at Smyrna finishing up my ppl in the 20. Gonna finish the rest of my SE ratings in a SR22. Can't wait!

I ran out of money for getting my pilot license so I did hang gliding instead. Not nearly as practical, but every bit as fun.

You go fly around Shelbyville or Tullahoma at all? If so I've probably talked to you.

I was about to finish in 2010 when I tore an Achilles. It set me back a year.

You're spoiled in the Diamond and Cirrus. I'm flying this old Cherokee. At least we own it so all I have to do is pay for fuel.

Are you using a Aviation GPS ap?
