If an undefeated defending national champion gets left out, the whole thing failed. They are the only team that should be guaranteed a spot. The one losses should sweat it out. Plus, it really pisses off Gators down here.

I do feel Alabama and Oregon are the two best teams in the country but that's simply an opinion.

If the committee even considers the fact that FSU won the NC last season then the whole thing failed. That should have absolutely no bearing whatsoever. It's all about the 4 best teams this season, and more specifically, right now.

You guys are acting like the committee is beholden to some higher moral/logical authority instead of this all being completely arbitrary.

CHAOS!

I don't think it is completely arbitrary, they have certain criteria they are to consider:

"Selection committee members will have a wealth of information including review of video, statistics and their own expertise to guide them in their deliberations. They will emphasize obvious factors like win-loss records, strength of schedule, conference championships won, head-to-head results and results against common opponents. The playoff group has retained SportSource Analytics to provide the data platform for the committee’s use. The platform will allow the committee members to compare and contrast every team on every level possible."

That's just the grocery list for their delicious arbitrary cake.

Good Morning Ladies And Gentlemen!

It will be interesting to see how the playoff system plays out in its inaugural season. I think it will be Bama, Oregon, FSU getting in but am unsure of the fourth team. I would love to see OSU get screwed and be left out, wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit. If FSU were somehow to be on the outside looking in(which I don't think they will be) that would really stir up even more controversy, as if there wasn't enough already.

So who does everyone think should get in between TCU, Baylor, and OSU? I could see an argument for all three but obviously all three can't get in. Only if this were an 8 team playoff. Even that wouldn't solve all the flaws with this system.

I HOPE fsu gets left out. I will LAUGH! :)

IMO, justice.

If an undefeated and untied power 5 conference champion gets left out with no other undefeated teams in D 1, then it is the biggest joke. You can laugh and I hate them but that would make the playoffs plainly stupid. If you THINK they should be left out, then well, you love numbers. Do the math.

If this was last year it would be fait accompli Bama vs FSU...glad the playoffs fixed this mess. :w00t:

They won't be left out. In fact, I think they move up to #3. They beat 12 power conference teams.

Vegas doesn't have FSU in the top 4 either:

@RJinVegas: Vegas Top 10: 1) Alabama 2) Oregon 3) TCU 4) Ohio St 5) Baylor 6) Miss St 7) Mich St 8) Florida St 9) Ole Miss 10) Kansas St

Itll show us the acc once the games start. Fsu will have to either oregon or bammer and if its oregon, theyll have to play bammer. They wont win the NC.

No, I don't believe so either. But until the other day, I had forgotten that they played Okie State and ND out of conference in addition to UF. Okie State beats OU. All I ever say is win, don't care by how much. They are in, but I don't think they win it all either. Their skilled players will be really good the next couple of years though.

FSU will get blown out by any team they play in the first round except OSU if that happened somehow. Baylor, TCU, Bama, Oregon. They will all kill FSU by multiple TDs

Yep, because FSU's defense isn't as dominant as last year's plus Shameous isn't that good of a QB, IMO.

I should say he's ok, but not the dominant Heisman winner of last year.

I don't like any of these teams but the one I hate the least is Oregon so that will be my pick for the team that I want to win it all. For all the complaints about the previous BCS system I feel it may have been better than this playoff system. People that wanted a 4 team playoff are now asking for an 8 team playoff and the thought of these kids having to play 16 games to get a national title is unreasonable. Most family members can't afford to go to 3 playoff games and a lot of fans can't either. Out of the 16 (?) years of the BCS system how many times did the title game not involve the two most deserving teams? I seem to remember only a couple of times when there was a big dispute. In the first year of the four team playoff there are disputes about 3 or 4 teams that people think should or shouldn't be in it. All JMO FWIW

Oh how I hope you're right. It would not surprise me one bit if the committee put OSU in there just to give FSU an easier first round opponent. If that happens I'll firmly place the tin foil cap upon my head and know the system is totally rigged.

FSU has won like 28 games in a row or something like that. They aren't going to get blown out. They know how to win. I'm not saying they are going to win the title. But this team is good. It's just not pretty. You play to win the game

He's a fast Jay Cutler is how I describe him. Looks crazy good sometimes, looks really bad sometimes. He will get drafted high, but will end up like Cam Newton. Never being an elite passer in the NFL.

Idk what changed from last year to this, but you're right he's not the same player at all.
