The last thing this program needs is another coaching change, that's how we got to these mediocre records people are complaining about. You pay him the raise because of his results in recruiting and program culture, you have to give the chance for the program to stabilize and succeed or you'll never get these results everyone wants to demand. With the ever increasing media deals, $4 mill is nothing.

3 million dollars for a 6-6 season would have most coaches fired. Ask Bo Pelini what happened there.

IMO Hart would be making a mistake paying for results that have not come yet.

In any other situation, I would agree with you.

However, Butch was projected to do worse in both seasons he was here. He won the games he was suppose to win and even beat South Carolina twice. I think if we want to stay competitive in the SEC and country, we have to hold on to Butch by any means necessary.

If not, it'll be the same 6 years all over again.

I agree with this. We aren't paying him for six win seasons. We'd be paying partly to avoid a lifetime of six win seasons.

Hes made his displeasure known to the media. The Vikings are trash for a reason and this move is a good indication of the competence or lack thereof within the coaches office.

Hes not happy with how they are using him. He said what everyone else in the country is thinking. Send CP to miami.

That's not exactly true. The goal and expectation was to go 6-6 and make a bowl both seasons. CBJ and Hart agreed to this. CBJ failed to meet it last year and achieved it this year. And UT dropped two games that we were favored to win this year-- both at home. Hart promised CBJ a raise for a bowl game, and he's getting one. Fair enough.

No coach is above the program. UT football has survived for a century before CBJ and it will survive long after he goes. I don't think CBJ is looking to make a move right now, but if he is, we'll bring in someone who wants to be here and make their mark. JMO, of course.

FF post saying there is a rumor Peyton was killed in a car accident. Anyone hearing anything like this?

EDIT: Thread deleted...probably a hoax. I should know better than to read/believe anything posted in the FF forum!! :thud:

There's a website that creates fake stories like that all the time about celebrity deaths.

A lot of the most ridiculous troll threads are started by two posters.
