UNC Basketball, Part Deux

How the hell did we drop 7 spots in the polls just due to a loss to a now ranked Butler team and following that up with two beatdowns of major non-conference opponents who were ranked at the time?

Eh, I just need something to whine about I guess, since I'm not going to get to see the game tonight.

How do you think Duke will fair against Wisconsin tonight?

It's going to be a very tough test, obviously. I don't expect Duke to win, but I'm very interested to see how they play in a tough road venue. I wish Duke would play more OOC road games.

There are about 8 Jimmy Chitwood's on the floor for the Hawkeyes tonight. Pretty interesting first half. I think the Heels win this going away.

Just got back in to watch. From what I've heard both sides have looked like dump.

On another note, I was surprised to hear Vitale calling. Not because of the Dukie V crap but because he's traditionally been the marquee guy. Wonder if this is some sort of passing of the torch to Bilas that we're witnessing. I bet he's the heir apparent.

And no kidding about the Jimmy Chitwood comment. I haven't seen a team this white since Appleton, Wisconsin high school played Aspen, Colorado high.

Bilas is now the "A team" guy. He's the basketball equivalent of Herbstreit.

Not talking smack, UNC has a lot work on. Rebounding on the defensive side of the ball would be a start.

Yeah, they suck. Given their pre-season performances and talent, I thought they were going to be much better than this.

I was very underwhelmed by their play tonight. I expected them to look better, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Yep. Suck is pretty much all you can say to describe it. I thought this was an automatic in the win column, especially since Iowa has already lost, what, 2 games or something like that?

Last year may have been one of Roy's best coaching jobs. However, if things don't shift around soon, this season may prove to be one of his worst.

After tonight, be afraid, be very afraid. This Duke team is the best I've seen since 2001. There will not be a 1st round loss this year, this team has real potential. UNC will certainly get better, but IMO this Duke team is special.

I just don't get it. The talent of the two squads (UNC and Duke) seems pretty even, at least on paper.

By this time last year, yeah, UNC had lost a couple head-scratchers, but they had also beating a top-10 Louisville team at neutral site and the top-ranked MSU team in Lansing.

You're right, last year UNC had some very strange wins and losses, I'm not sure what to make of this UNC team. It is really early though.

I could be way off base about Duke, but they seem to be a very good "team". The new guys are unselfish and play defense, plus we aren't jacking up a million 3's each game because Okafor is a true 5 post presence.

Duke looked good and now that they have a legit big look out.

I've got a strange feeling this is going to be another up-and-down year.

Team struggles to score over 50 half the time, yet can drop 100 plus at the drop of a hat the other half.
