You made it… 6-6. Could be better. Could be 7-5 (UF game). Could be worse. Could be 4-8 (USC and Vandy games). But whatever. Snap and clear. You’re going bowling!! At the end of the day, after the emotions from a close win over little brother out west, here’s my thoughts on the season as a whole:

As a fan, I saw flashes of greatness. On offense, Hurd, Dobbs, Pig, Malone, and North made some special plays this year in some clutch moments. I could get used to that becoming more of a routine. I believe it will.

On defense, Barnett will be a Vol legend by the time your career is over. TKjr will be giving a “no-no” finger waggle to the SEC east for at least two more years, and Cam Sutton gonna Cam Sutton. Love it. Curt, thanks for being a true leader and giving your all every down. JRM = Stud. Armed and dangerous sideline to sideline.

Special teams: Medley will win us some BIG games in the coming seasons. Coverage was great all year as well. Great turnaround Mr. Darr!

I saw a sufficient amount of doo doo. The offensive line offended me at times, that’s for sure. But hey, live to fight another day. I believe you can be the most improved unit in the country next year. We saw our share of injuries, some nagging, some nasty. All costly to depth and talent levels. We got some really bad calls by refs. The playcalling seemed suspect sometimes (at least to us with an amateur eye), but other times things worked like they were drawn up. The more the team grows and executes, I think Coach Jake might get labeled “The Mad Scientist” in a couple of years. We lost our leader and some quality talent in what is a bad situation for everyone involved.
We lost to Missouri… again.

However, way to fight through all the adversity!

So here you stand. Ready for a bowl against a quality opponent. Some time to get healthy. Some time to game plan. Some time for the young players AND coaches to continue to grow. Most importantly… it’s December and there’s still Tennessee Football to look forward to!

Congrats team 118. “Game of inches,” “Brick by Brick,” “63 effort,” whatever you want to call it, you young men accomplished your goal in the face of all types of difficult situations and obstacles. Hats off, and go get that 7th win! We as fans are very proud of you!

I'm interested to see how pumped up the team is during the bowl game, especially the upperclassmen.

Are you running for a Knoxville City Council seat because you sound like a politician that has no clue.

What part had no clue???

A lot of sunshine pumping that is either already known or basics that have been stressed throughout the year.

This team is the over the hump team they have done well and will build upon this year.

Personal flashback I guess of this scenario playing out in the locker room and everybody looking at each other stating "Duh".

So true. Coach Fulmer knew that and it was a point of emphasis with him every year...

Sounds like you're all kinds of bothered by me being excited for these boys.

I'm sure you can find more lemons to suck on when that one's dry.

Great speech Face. Don't let 'em drag you into any unnecessary mudslinging -- we're running a clean, brick by brick campaign here.

This isn't that most talented team to ever wear UT uniforms but it's one of the toughest and grittiest teams in my lifetime. The sign that they touch before going onto the field says "I will give my all for Tennessee today" and I think every single player has done that this year despite the injuries, inexperience, and adversity that they faced.

It sure did. Despite how ugly it looked at times, 6-6 given the injury bug, the flu before Bama, the suspensions, and youth of this team is quite the accomplishment. Not surprised Butch and co are getting raises
