I am sure MH and CPF were on the phone with him this morning asking his advice.... this is speculation only on Jim's part.... He would wish for this and would say it so that others would not inquire about the position....

You're going to have some people argue with you about Madden... I like the NFL coaches on tv MUCH better than a majority of college coaches.

Anyone who wants to argue that a guy with one of the top career winning percentages in the history of the NFL wasn't a top notch coach is more than welcome to make a fool of themselves.

I'n neither for or against Madden, I could care less either way... that being said he's in the Hall because of his tv career, not his coaching.

Well if he were, he'd be a considerably better coach than the Donnan, Corso, or Holtz. Holtz I suppose is pretty good in comparison to the other two, but the trail of trouble he's left behind has never sat well with me.
