I'd take him in a minute. If he beats out Dobbs we get Dobbs for an extra year. If not we have a backup not named Peterman.

I don't understand the other side of this conversation. As a hypothetical, if you have the option of taking a legit Heisman candidate QB with big-time experience for a year, you take him. This is big boy ball.

I just heard on Gameday that Braxton Miller will get a medical redshirt this year and will be transferring due to JT Barretts performance this year at Ohio St. so that Sets up a Russell Wilson type situation.
Should we go after him for 1 year and get Dobbs his redshirt that his family wants him to have?
Dont we run the same style offense that Ohio st runs?

Just my thoughts, curious to what everyone else thinks.

Why is it that when someone leaves another football program. There is always a thread on here about what if he comes to UT.

Let's get right on this and put all our collective effort into getting it done! :yahoo:

That should hold em for months. :glare: The rest of us can get back to serious football. :yess:

Are you kidding me? I'm expecting Peterman to transfer as he should. Just don't think we should bring in a redshirt senior at this point and hinder Dobbs' development. Jmo.

Yes I was kidding:good!:. However, I don't see it hindering Dobbs' development. Would you rather have him or a true freshman as Dobbs' backup?

He wouldn't come here to backup Dobbs.

If he comes it would be to compete for the starting job. If he got it we would have a great starter with quality depth in Dobbs. If Dobbs holds the job we would have a great starter with quality depth in Miller. I think it would be a win win.

I would be down with that, but Dobbs has a special quality about him. He's not just mobile. He has a really good feel for where the pressure is coming from, without taking his eyes of his receivers downfield, and has an uncanny ability to evade the pressure.

Missou was only able to contain him fairly well because they have 2 NFL DE's and got pressure up the middle as well as the edge. There ain't a QB in the country that could do well with our OL in front of them...in that game.

With that said, I think it could be good for Dobbs to get the most difficult classes out of the way, and play when he's taking his upper level courses. But he'll likely graduate early, anyway, so redshirting doesn't mean squat with him...unless he enrolls in graduate level classes.

As a Walk-on...Sure why not.

Dormady, Dobbs and Jennings say heck no. Peterman says whatever!

Worley too busy sexting Nutritionist to comment.

Miller has already hurt his shoulder twice so he should be a natural fit at Tennessee. How do you think his shoulders will be after getting sacked 6 times a game?

BTW, how are his ankles?

Hate this injury to JT Barrett, it looks like it could be bad. But for those of you on VN who say having Dobb's play earlier with our pourous line would have been a good idea and we would be better off win wise right now you might be right, but how do you feel about tOSU's chances for the rest of the season. Heck if UM get the equalizer this game might even end up a loss for tOSU. WE NEED TO PROTECT DOBB's, we want to win today and win our bowl game. Then go into next year with a healthy QB. JW got abused and had the surgury to prove it. Let's keep JD health.
