'15 MD OT Pat Allen

Just your opinion, which of course is not a problem. And he very well might not flip. But when a committed player takes an official visit to the school they are committed to and does not reaffirm his commitment that tells you something. Not to mention positive outlook from very conservative VQ writers. I don't think there is any way that it is less than 50/50. Maybe even more than 50% for UT.

Had McGirt decided to commit to UGA, maybe I'd feel better about Allen flipping. Maybe if Edoga flips to UGA I feel better about Allen to UT. As of now I think Allen sticks with UGA.

I disagree with that reasoning. That thought process infers that the driving force behind him flipping is based on his feelings about the roster at UGA. I think whether he does or does not flip is based on more than that.

It's also possible a committed recruit talks up the competition so he can milk the limelight one last time when reselecting his team. We've seen kids do this.

Just like GA has playing time available at safety next year, we have significant playing time opportunity at OT next year and Allen sees this clearly. Hopefully he takes full advantage of this opportunity.

Does anyone have an idea of why our tackle recruiting has been so bad? Mahoney?

We have early playing time galore but no seems to biting. The 4 guys we have committed right now are better suited for the interior.

I'm really beginning to believe that Mahoney may be the staff's weak ling in both coaching and recruiting. May be time to start looking for an upgrade there.

If that's the case, then he needs to start hitting the strength & conditioning program. :)

I think the staff focused on DR and it cost them. If you try to go 100% on a kid and miss, it's going to sting and you likely end up cost yourself other options. I still believe if the staff had cut ties and turned their focus to OT's not named Drew after he chose Ole Miss it may have worked out a bit better with other OTs.

Mahoney is the weak link. Great person, average coach and recruiter at best

I remember reading that after Butch was hired, the OL players went to him and lobbied for Pittman to be kept on. But Butch went all Fulmer and was loyal to his guy. Pittman was and is a beast of a coach. And a proven one too. Sigh
