Technically only those remaining in the north. The Supreme Court had already decided that anything the Federal Government did, did not apply to the South after they seceded.

The emancipation proclamation didn't "free" any slaves. All slaves within conquered territory were freed per military order. The emancipation proclamation didn't cover the 5 slave holding Union states.

Sure. But it's not just one witness. This has happened with many of the witnesses, almost all of which are African-American as well, including those that agreed with Wilson's side of the story (for the most part).

Correct. Its not just about 1 witness or all of them for that matter. When physical evidence is present it doesn't provide a personal opinion that can have feelings attached to it.

Thats why every case has witness accounts that are tossed when compared to the evidence.

I believe you are correct. I am going by memory, but I believe Lincoln issued the proclamation after the Battle of Sharpsburg.

yup first 'major' victory in a while, the Brits and/or French were interested in getting involved for the South. But Lincoln made the war about slavery with the EP, 2 years into it. after that no European country would deal with the South.
