Comcasts's new business model

Hard to imagine it could get worse. If they're not abolishing welfare we should be OK, maybe better.

With so many people on welfare why are 1-5 children in America going to bed hungry? Guess those PSA's on ending childhood hunger are falling on deaf ears.
The problem with any government program is fraud by service providers and the people receiving the benefits.Tennessee's aggressive stance on fraud has eliminated thousands from the welfare rolls, if the Feds adopted the same policy , these programs would require less funding. Only the truly needy should receive help, namely the working poor with families. :hi:

Sure, but saving $5 for 295Gb less? And then charging $1/GB for everything over 5Gb? You don't think that's intentionally trying to take advantage of people that don't quite understand it?

And not to mention lose the original $5 discount if you hit 5.00001GB. So that's $6 tacked onto your bill because you didn't think you would use 5GB, but happened to go over a little bit. 6GB gets you original price + $1. 5GB is just a few hours of Netflix. I'm sure most people don't know that and this model was designed based on that assumption/ignorance.

Who cares? Every business takes advantage of what their customers don't know. I see no reason to single out Comcast in this instance.

So the dope who picked this plan pays $6 and learns a cheap life lesson. If they can't switch the package after they realize it's not going to work for them, I'd be on your side.

This is what you miss, two alternating screens playing some theme music.

Yes but I was wondering about how basketball will be done - if they have to use it for that - and it burned me up when they showed Alabama over UT in the early season game

Comcast/Time Warner merger reportedly in peril.

Comcast Merger Chances Stall As Regulators Realize Comcast Meddled In Hulu Management, Ignored NBC Deal Conditions

Reports have started to emerge that regulators at the Justice Department may block Comcast's proposed $45 billion acquisition of Time Warner Cable, with DOJ attorneys crossing the t's and dotting the i's before recommending a deal rejection. Comcast is apparently meeting with the DOJ this week as part of a last-ditch effort to save the deal, though leaks have suggested Comcast may walk away from the deal entirely if the merger conditions are too steep (read: actually have them do much of anything for the public interest), including requiring that Comcast sign off on Title II reclassification and the FCC's new net neutrality rules.

Leaving Comcast was the best decision I ever made.

Count yourself among the lucky ones who have a choice; they are the only show in town for me. I've waged a bitter war with them for a few years; mostly regarding their greedy decision to cap data usage in the ATL market.

Finally found a loophole by jumping to business class Internet, which remains uncapped so far- so I am in an uneasy truce with them currently.

Counting the days for when a viable alternative comes along. I truly wouldn't piss on a burning comcast building to put out the fire. I'd grab my guitar and start playing kumbahya

I would go back to Uverse in a heartbeat if I could.

The technology and delivery behind U-verse, Fios, and Prism is awesome. Wish they would invest more into these and get them located into more Areas. However, with ATT's recent "purchse" of DirecTV I hgihly doubt they will invest much more into expanding it.

Both ATT and Verizon are wanting out of the wireline and TV business and wanting to go more of a wireless only approach. Didn't work out for Sprint when they did that though.

I have had DSL, Charter, Time Warner, Cincinnati Bell, and Comcast. Comcast beats them all. Their customer service is hit or miss but their service and channel selection is better than all the others. I would rate TW the worst cable together with Charter.

Comcast beats Uvers in internet speed and on demand but Uverse kicks Comcast's azz in DVR technology and customer service.

When I had AT&T and called customer service, I got foreigners who spoke broken English.

When I call Comcast I get someone in America who speaks a language I can understand.

Comcast has great channel selection. Poor customer service. I'm considering cutting the cord and getting sling tv.

I just got Comcast. My first bill was 189. They said thats all i owed for installation and everything. On the next bill i had $143 past due, according to the statement my first bill should have actually been $340. But that was not on my statement. So my account was past due for almost a month because i owed them money they didnt tell me i owed. Thanks comcast. Off to a great start.

Turns out I've been charged for renting 2 modems from them for about 8 months, funny thing is I have my own. Only took 3 calls of about an hour a piece to straighten out.

Tivo's DVR technology leads the pack by a good margin. It can be a bit painful working with the providers, but we use Tivo with cable cards (Verizon Fios presently).

Seems like I have a new hidden fee every month. I feel like the quality has went down as well. Wireless is a mess.
