I would include Ole Miss in that top group, with Alabama trying to be a factor.
I do think Tennessee is trending the right way right now and it's good that LSU won't get another visit while it looks like Tennessee will get two more. If the Vols were to get Amadi, too, that would be a big boost as well.
Now, we will see how this one ends up but I think things are falling into place the best they can right now for the Vols. Butch Jones has really made this a personal recruitment, along with Amadi.
Butch gets both. Problem solved.
I hate to sound like Leb but we can only take so many. At some point they're going to have to pick who they would rather have and I'm guessing this will be one of those cases unless they ask Miller to look around. Which I would be opposed to if it meant we would land Martin and Amadi. I prrsonally prefer both of them to Miller.
Didn't Miller just say he was solid? I know sometimes a kid's word doesn't mean that much, but he has taken visits and there has been no sign of him flipping. I think he can be a very good CB if given the time to develop.
With Phillips, who said he was still planning on being in Knoxville Thursday but wasn't 100 percent sure, it would be big for the Vols to see him at a game for the third time this season. Add that to the fact that Phillips is scheduled to use his official visit on Dec. 12, the last weekend in the open period, things are setting up well for the Vols with Phillips. While LSU and Ole Miss are very much contenders and have been on him hard, Tennessee will have two more opportunities to have him on campus while neither LSU or Ole Miss will. Phillips is scheduled to visit Alabama for his official visit next weekend but the feeling there is the Tide is playing catch up.
It will be interesting to see how things play out with Phillips over the next month.
Both Amadi and Phillips are early enrollees.
I think people have to start realizing this is how it plays out. Most on this board would have swore Kirkland was a take no matter what based on his *'s. That was clearly not the case till after Cherry took the TX visit and opened the door. If recruits are not taking trips, IMO they may be safer than some want to believe. You're right, UT can only take so many.
I know this is your new thing to beat to death, along with telling us about taking visits, but sometimes a higher rated player really is better.
