'15 TN OT Drew Richmond (Former Ole Miss commit)

That's because he's an ole miss commit and will be going to ole miss.

Definitely and I don't think we let him take that OV here in January like he was talking about a month ago. I think it's pretty clear that Richmond was just using his visits here to catch up with some friends and pitch Ole Miss to our mutual recruits like Ryan Newsome. Newsome has been telling people that Richmond was doing that.

Serious question...

How long would it take for Richmond to flip to the Vols, if that happened?

Upon hearing the news, Drew would immediately call Butch and be like

Never really bought into Freeze being a great coach... but with what he did at Ole Miss, he might be scary at Florida.

I didn't at first but he has won everywhere he has been so he clearly is good. I for one would not want Freeze at Florida. He isn't leaving Ole Miss though. That's his home and his personality fits better in that town with those kids. When I think of Florida HC I think of a jerk. They need a jerkoff that brings a jerkoff/hate attitude to the team because honestly that's the type of players they have always had and recruited there. Spurrier, urban, zook, Muschamp all jerkoffs. Hugh is not like that.

Using your criteria, Petrino would be a good fit.

Say what you will, but I don't see Spurrier as a "jerkoff". He's a great coach and always has been. He might have a dry sense of humor but he certainly doesn't bull**** anyone. He shoots straight and tells it like it is. One of my favorite quotes of his was in regards to running up the score. "It's their job to stop us". Neyland used to have some one-liners like that too but no one around here calls him a jerkoff. Now, Muschamp, Meyer, and Zook all make me want to punch them in the face. Especially Muschamp. I probably hate him more than any coach in college football.

Agreed. Spurrier has always been hilarious and you never really get coach speak from him. Very entertaining guy.

I don't see him as that now but I thought of him that way during his Florida tenure

I think you guys are putting to much stock in Freeze leaving Ole Miss. The guy is an Oxford native. He went to Southern Miss, but he gushes Ole Miss. They will pay him, they will worship him, they will keep him.

And there is zero pressure there. All he has to do is win 9-10 games every once in a while and he can get away with 7-8 win season on a regular basis.

That's not completely true. Freeze will keep them happy as long as he continues to recruit well but there is pressure at every SEC school including Ole Miss. It has to pointed out that David Cutcliffe won 10 games in 2003 and was named SEC Coach of the Year but was fired a year later. Houston Nutt won 9 games in both 2008 and 2009 while winning the Cotton Bowl twice and pulling the upset of the year in college football in 2008 with a road victory over Florida. Nutt was still fired in 2011... Freeze will get a longer leash than that because of the reputation he has established for himself as a recruiter (provided he keeps his nose clean with the NCAA - Ole Miss is no sacred cow) but make no mistake, there is pressure to win big at Ole Miss. They have spent a lot of money to upgrade their program in the last ten years and they expect results just like everyone else.

I could see petrino at Florida. Florida has a big problem the coach pool is very shallow this year.

FWIW Tom Jurich spiked Petrino's contract with a $10M poison pill. No one is paying that kind of buyout. He's not going anywhere.

"Straight shooter" and "jerkoff" aren't mutually exclusive. At all.

Serious question...

Who is Ole Miss looking at for head coach once Freeze leaves for Florida? Would they look at McElwain or maybe even Kirby Smart?

Freeze isn't taking the UF job. Those delusional idiots think Chip Kelly is a realistic option. Their coaching wish list is absurd and full of coaches who wouldn't leave current positions for that job.

Yeah, that would probably not work out. 10 million to Petrino and another 6 million to pay Muschumps buyout. You're in for 16 million before you even talk money for the coaches salary. Not gonna happen.

Florida could pay it but why? Hell you could make a run at Chip Kelly for cheaper at that point. I don't want to say that there's no way but there's no way.
