With Cut leaving are we screwed? or does it just depend on his replacement?....Im officially worried about next season....plus if we do indeed to bad next year the coaching staff have the ole "implementing a new offense" excuse:ill_h4h:

We won 9 games with Randy Sanders calling plays the last time Cutcliffe left us.

Relax:pinch:

delusion would be actually believing that an OC is going to be able to break from the CPF shackles.

The Vols should've been playing in a BCS game in 1999 based on the team's talent. I actually thought they had a shot at going to back-to-back BCSCG.

i believe that is the key and that is why everyone on this board is worried. there is no confidence in our university's decision making.

Isn't it funny? Everything was gloom and doom because Coach Cut had such a boring and predictable offense. Now that he is gone, there is gloom and doom because we will not have his predictable and boring offense.

Seems like some just want to preach gloom and doom. We'll see the same stuff written about the next OC by you naysayers no matter who we find to take Coach Cuts place.

We'll continue to be good enough to turn out 9-4 yawn seasons. That seems to suit some on here just fine so why worry.

There's more to OC than playcalling. I think you all center too much on that.

Cut's offenses usually executed well. He instilled some discipline. He develops QBs VERY well.

Who cares about playcalling...the above is what is going to be seriously missed and will be noticed.

If that happens again especially the discipline and execution. Then it would be a joke that this staff is still employeed.

This is an opportunity to turn lemons into lemonade. If Fulmer will hire a hotshot offensive coordinator who will modernize the offense (read: spread), Tennessee could surprise a few folks next year. On the other hand, if Fulmer follows past form and promotes from within, it could be same ole same ole.

The wild card is Trooper Taylor. As offensive coordinator, could he bring some spark and new wrinkles to a tired offensive scheme? Maybe. But would Fulmer let him? I don't know.

One thing I like about Urban Meyer (ugh!) is that instead of shoehorning players into a system, he builds a system around the players. Tennessee does just the opposite. (Does anybody think that Tim Tebow would have won a Heisman this year if he had come to Tennessee?) Some fresh blood in the offensive coordinator position might change that.

Well of course not cause ESPN hates us and will never allow a UT player to win the heisman. :)

To take a line from the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" You don't say much there (VFN895), but when you do, you get straight to the point".

No, he would have been Danny Ainge's nephew's backup.....riding the pines like Crompton, who BTW was a 5* QB like Tebow and this Pryoy guy that everbody seems enthralled with!!!:banghead2::banghead2:
