Reports are that Duke is offering $1.5 million. In today's college football environment, you'd have to drop a couple of your dollar signs for $1.5 million.

money changes your views about a lot of things. Plus, to be a CFB coach you have to be competitive and believe you can turn them around.

In all seriousness, by accepting the job at Duke, Cutcliffe will once again be a head coach in a BCS conference, he will get a substantial raise (to $1.5 million), he will live in a nice area and work on a beautiful college campus, and he will be in about as low pressure a college coaching position as he could possibly have. They don't expect to contend for conference and national titles in football at Duke. Considering his health problems, that type of low stress environment might be beneficial for him over the long-term.
