The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

Give me a run down of the final laps.

Hamlins crew chief decided to leave him out on older tires while everyone else pitted. Harvick had 4 tires. Gordon had the car to beat but he decided to pit under yellow with 10 to go to let Hamlin, Newman and Harvick battle it out.

Not a Harvick fan but he deserves his props. He was one of the best cars all year.

He sold his very successful race teams so that he and his wife could have a child. He left his old team, that he had been with since he started, for the unknown, in search of somebody who he felt could get him a Cup.

Tonight he celebrated with his family and with his new team. Hard hate on that.

I'm surprised that did stop you

Sad that Jeff clearly had a championship season and was best today but will have nothing to show for it.

It was probably his last stand too. I don't know if I can see him replicating this kind of season again, at this stage in his career. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

Can't really fault Hamlin there. If the race had gone green till the end I don't think Newman/Harvick would have caught him. The caution that came out with 7 to go (when Gordon pitted) is what cost him.

You knew there was going to be more cautions though
