It sounds like Sr. is supportive of his son and will let him make his own choice. He can tell the Vols are in his heart. Vol, Butches.

I am pretty sure he is talking about an average person, not a D1 football player. 4.7 is fast for an average person.

Kind of like breaking 100 in golf. Don't play as much now because of kids, but I used to get mad when I had bad rounds in the 90's or screw up good rounds in the 80's. Then you remember that there is a very low percentage of the population that can break 100.

This is so true. I've been playing the game for 40 years and I get upset when I don't break 80. Once I learned how to "play" golf, I became really good at it. Been a low single digit handicap ever since. I couldn't begin to say who has elite speed. I just want guys who knows how to play the game of football. Give me someone who has a high football IQ and loves the game.

It's the elder Bussey who has paid for his son to unofficially visit Nebraska several times, and the elder Bussey who said he called NU wide receivers coach Rich Fisher Wednesday to tell him that Kendall Bussey, Jr. is strongly considering the Volunteers. Kendall Bussey, Sr. said his son hasn't decommitted, but Nebraska will have to recruit him just as hard as Tennessee has begun to do. The elder Bussey expected Fisher and running backs coach Ron Brown would call his son - a top 100 prospect according to Rivals - either Wednesday night or later this week.

"I wouldn't say Nebraska is out of it by any means," Kendall Bussey, Sr. said, but his son has "loved" Tennessee ever since he attended a track meet in Knoxville as a 10-year-old. When the Volunteers offered, the Busseys attended the Tennessee-Alabama game. They followed it up with a trip to Lincoln for Nebraska-Purdue. Bussey said his son loved both trips, but may have been more excited for the Tennessee trip since he hadn't been there in some time.

Once Kendall Bussey, Jr. made it clear to his dad this week that he was looking hard at Tennessee, the elder Bussey called Fisher. The two played college football together at Colorado.

"I'm fighting for Nebraska," Bussey said. "But he's the one who has to make the choice."

One more comment on Ameer Abdullah, and I'll shut up.

Yes, it is Big 10/12 football, and not the SEC, but his current career rushing yards and touchdowns would put him #1 ALL-TIME at Tennessee.

Aight, I"m done.

I'm getting the vibe from TOS they are taking a wait and see approach on Bussey. I think the reason is we don't want to scare off Frazier or Love.

I read somewhere that Nebraska fans (maybe even the coaches) are pissed because the insinuation that they did not recruit other RBs after taking his commitment. IF that is the case then the Nebraska coaches are nuts for doing so, as kids can change their minds for a variety of reasons, get hurt, etc. I don't really believe that to be the case, as a recruiter you better have plan B, C, and D

Not really. We have to have at least one more back, and really need two more.

I don't think we need one more. I'm happy with what we have but if we can get a good one then great. Right now "with the numbers" we are going after best available at any position. I would say they are about option 7 on the contingency plan since we are in on so much great talent all over the field.

Disclaimer

I do not know how many recruits we will take.
Everything stated above is strictly the opinion of myself and does not reflect the views of Volnation.

for sure?

I believe the plan is for him to play in the Slot. Of course with him playing RB in HS and doing well there, he could see carries from time to time. Same with Bruce. I honestly don't see Perry or Bruce much different than Love. Love IF he were taken IMO would likely see more time in the slot than at RB as well. Do I think we need (3) Slot WRs in this class? No.

JMO

They have to eventually allow someone to commit elsewhere (not sure how else to say it). We cannot take everyone we want and can have. There has to be a numbers cap somewhere despite any loopholes, even for CBJ.

My point is, do they already have commitments from other back/back and they're holding off on letting them go public until after Rocky has EEd to hold on to him.

Or letting the Reid situation play out before bringing on another back so people like Stanford can't be on our case about 3 backs already to Love and then TN can't really admit they are willing to part ways with a commit like Reid. If Reid flips to UGA this wknd then you I would expect Bussey commits right afterwards and we still are in on Love as his situation remains same

I think this is the situation that will unfold. UGA has 1, less highly rated RB committed and they are a run heavy offense. Whereas we have 2 RB's committed and are actively pursuing many more.
