The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Vanderbilt seriously has to have the worst ooc schedule I've ever seen. They won't even play Northwestern and Wake Forest because they're "too tough". The fact that they talk about the possibility of competing in the SEC and winning the East while at the same time fearing the likes of Northwestern and Wake Forest is mind boggling. Seriously, is Vanderbilt's ooc schedule the worst ooc schedule ever?

Temple - 1 year removed from the MAC coming into the season. Vandy lost by 30.
UMass - 2 years removed from the FCS coming into the season. Vandy won by 3.
Old Dominion - 1 year removed from the FCS coming into the season. Vandy won by 14.
Charleston Southern - In the FCS. Vandy won by 1.

Vanderbilt is 3-1 against OOC opponents and 0-5 in the SEC with all 6 of their losses being by double digits. While UMass and Old Dominion count as wins against FBS opponents, they're really not FBS level. UMass's upperclassmen were recruited at the FCS level, as was most of Old Dominion's roster, essentially making both teams FCS caliber along with Charleston Southern who actually is in the FCS. In other words, Vanderbilt basically played 3 FCS teams and 1 MAC team out of conference. They lost by 30 to said MAC team and scraped by their 3 FCS opponents, all of which will account for their only 3 wins this season.

And I see their ooc schedule will be another grueling battle next season as they take on Austin Peay, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee and Houston. Why their fans don't acknowledge that their program will always be trash and never be consistently competitive(they're lucky if they could be relevant in any season) in the SEC is beyond me. Their savior James Franklin who made them relevant(in their minds) knew it was impossible as well and that's why he dropped opponents from legit conferences for newbies coming up from the FCS. He knows the only real shot to consistently make bowl games at Vandy is by playing the 4 worst teams possible ooc and lucking out with 2 conference wins. Too bad for Vandy that Ole Miss and Kentucky don't suck anymore. Going to be funny when we finish off Vandy giving them an 0-8 SEC record.

This will all be sorted out at some point soon since there is a requirement that at least one out of conf game must be against a BCS conference opponent. So far all they have is Ga Tech in 2016 but there's plenty of room to add a big name team. They'll have to play the Northwesterns or WF now whether they like it or not.

whats funny is they have a poster over there that just said "Go ahead and print the 3 yrs in a row t shirts". They are feeling good after a Old Dominion win. They wont score more than 13 points in any of their next three games and thats being generous.

And they wonder why we hate them now...

AND GET THIS...They think those OOC games should be the first four games of the season...no I'm not kidding...They think being 4-0 would give the team momentum going into SEC play. They want the AD to talk with the SEC Office with regards to this...it's just...:eek:lol:

Josh Dobbs is gonna run wild on these fools. He'll probably once again break the rushing yards in a game record by a Vol QB against Vandy.

MTSU will beat them next year. Depending on when the Arkansas game is, I may drive down to the Boro just to see that game in person.

Poor Vandy is going to get killed.

I wish the SEC would drop them from the league. They had a good run with Franklin but overall they're an embarrassment to the conference. Even Wake won the ACC one year, Duke played for the ACC title last year. The SEC could try to pick up another school, Louisville would be good and I know FSU isn't leaving cup cake city

I think I'd keep the normally easy SEC win on the schedule.

The SEC would never add Louisville.

I think they easily could lose 3 of their 4 OCC games next season. Which I think could also be their only win period next year.

I'm actually praying Austin Peay plays their best game of all time against Vandy next season.

Does the PA guy still lead the crowd in the V O L S chant before their games? Its been a few years since I've been to a game at the Dud. Seemed like a weird tradition.

I would happily take Duke as their replacement.

I disagree.
If they wanted to leave that would be just fine, but for the SEC to kick them out would be bad for everybody and I would never agree with it. They are part of the SEC family and you don't treat family that way. They may be the cousin you cant stand but they are still your cousin. That's corny I know but the only way I know how to explain it.

After the gators rushed for 400+ against Georgia, vandy fans are predicting gators only rush for about 200 against them in this week's pick-em at vandymania.

It's almost as if they don't even watch the sport.

exactly. ODU was a team thats been giving up 50 pts to everyone. They think they have "found their offense" now. haha its gonna be funny when UF puts Hargreaves on Duncan and then stack the box. Vandy will not move the ball at all in the next 3 games. VU is giving up about 215ypg rushing in SEC play. UF will run the ball fine. VU has the slowest Defense in the league by a large margin and their pass rush is as bad as south carolinas.

I think Vanderbilt should be dropped. Save two seasons in their recent history, they have been an absolute embarrassment to the SEC and the Great State of Tennessee. I wish that when Georgia Tech left back in the 50s or whenever that they would have stayed and Vandy would have gone. Yes, it's been fun killing them every year but they're still embarrassing and not worth anyone's time. Especially this year, what SEC gets blown out at home by Temple? Only Vanderbilt.

I now follow Temple a little after the beatdown they layed on those clowns. What a beautiful site that was.

Agreed brother. It is a loss we should never forget. I can understand a rare upset to a school like that but a 37-7 blowout at home? Are you serious?

I love it and hope things continue like that for that program in Nashville. I have no sympothy for that program whatsoever. Theyre the unclassiest bunch I've ever seen. My dream scenario would be if they could find dirt while Franklin was there to get em the death penalty in football.

I have been working at the airport the past couple of days. Gator fans are going to turn Vandy's stadium blue.

They should cheggarboard it.

As a matter of fact, Vandy should only schedule schools that:

  1. Travel well...
  2. Have gold as their primary team color...

So that the can look like they are filling their stadium.
