'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Conditioning doesn't take long.

I also see Jakob taking over next year at MLB. Word on the street is he has been impressing in practice having now figured out the position.

Great news! Players, like Jakob, are why the 15 extra practices that come with a bowl game are critical. He will be so much further along with those practices, and he gains more knowledge working with and watching AJ.

Absolutely. Bowl game = extra fall camp. Sooooooo incredibly important for the those in the 2-deep behind Seniors.

Good to hear. Jakob is one of my favorite players from this year's class based on his background story. He's such a great kid. Always smiling.

My wife calls Von Pearson her "baby daddy" though. She loves that guy. I remember her tearing up when I told her about him calling Coach Z and asking him what the best cleats were that he could get for $51.

Welllllll alrigh-hi-hi-ty then

All 4 of them?

Try 15....

"Having the extra practice time and being able to develop the younger players is a great help," said San Diego State coach Brady Hoke, who guided the Aztecs to their first bowl game since 1998, against Navy in the Dec. 23 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.

During the first week of bowl practices, Hoke said his team's freshmen who redshirted this season or played sparingly in regular-season games got as many as 45 snaps per practice, including full-contact scrimmages.

Teams like California and Texas won't get to evaluate their younger players until next spring.

"It gives you a better feel for where you're at with younger kids," Syracuse coach Doug Marrone said. "You can put the younger kids in more intense situations and see how they react and how far you can take them. As you're evaluating them, you're asking yourself if you can rely on him or do you need to find someone else at that position. If a kid emerges, you're set at that position so you can go recruit a kid for another position."

(EDIT: I see you meant 4.. as in 4 seniors. My bad. My point is still valid, these youngsters need this)

Just thought about this…have any of you noticed that Kamara is the only JUCO player that we have recruited this cycle? I think that speaks volumes as to where we are in recruiting and with our roster now.
