Arkansas.

I actually think that MSU fades down the stretch losing to both Bama and Ole Miss. Like you I wouldn't be completely surprised to see Ole Miss take a loss vs Arkansas.

Any way it turns out there will be some exceptional teams from the West playing in mid-tier bowl games.

I completely expect MSU to lose to Bama, but I don't see Ole Miss getting them. That Treadwell injury is unfortunately really going to hurt Ole Miss. A totally different offense without him on the field.

IDK that I see Miss State losing the Ole Miss without Treadwell. He was a big part of their offense.

Ole Miss could have an identical record to UT when all is said and done.

I see Ole Miss as a better O than Arkansas... and a better D. MSU's struggles with Ark is what makes me doubt they can get it done vs Ole Miss. MSU's D really hasn't stopped anyone. It is really counter-intuitive that the #1 team could have the 91st ranked D. It is also odd that they hold opponents to only 20 ppg while giving up that much yardage. Considering Ole Miss' D, I can see MSU's "unique" formula not holding up well in the Egg Bowl.

PS- I think Mullen is pretty much gone regardless. One of the big openings will be too much for him to say no to. Hope it isn't UF. Wouldn't mind seeing him at Michigan.

I think State finishes 11-1 and still wins the west. I see Alabama finishing at 10-2 losing to either LSU or Auburn. The scenario that may play out is that Alabama may lose to LSU, which means State only has to win two of their last 3 games (Vandy, Ole Miss, and Bama) to win the west.

Richmond may have interest but it will be very very difficult to flip him, with Ole Miss very close to home.

My guess, though... if the NFL came calling, he might want to try it. Many highly successful people can't be happy sitting still when they think that they can climb. The challenge of NFL might be too appealing.

He might leave for the NFL, yes, but I don't think he would leave Oxford for another college job despite the money. The only thing that might eventually cause him to leave is never finishing higher than the middle of the pack in the West no matter how good his teams are.

If Jones is the guy and continues to recruit well then UF has given him a head start.

FSU being good helps as well. Auburn raids FL for players. If Miami could improve then UT could have a period of success over UF.

With the right coaching, the Big 3 are all capable of being top 10-15 at the same time. The early to mid 90's was proof of this. The X factor in that happening is the growth in strength of the respective conferences. I believe the recruiting base is there to where they don't have to worry about cannibalizing each other on the recruiting trail.

@BigOrangeButch: “@TheDream_75: I need all my ole miss fans to blow up @LC1era_ and @_KIRKjunior mentions ! We need these boys 🔴🔵” ummmmmm.

Yeah, if you're still riding the Richmond train, you may want to get off at the next stop. He's just playing the recruiting game. Friends at Ole Miss and a 9-4 record is more important to him than repping his home state. I actually think Tiny Richardson affected his decision negatively for UT also.

I'd rather put our eggs in other OT baskets. Let him know we want and need him, but don't waste too many resources and time on him. If he really wanted to be a Vol, the door is open.

Btw, 9-4 record meaning Ole Miss loses 2 more games this year, including bowl game. Lock it in. UT could be 7-6 or 8-5 with a brighter future.

Gonna be tough without Treadwell.

He's been doing that since his commit.

What does Tiny Richardson have to do with his decision?

I'm guessing he means the fact that he wasn't taken in the draft and ole miss had a 1st round OT. I don't know how it could have wound up any differently for Tiny with his health issues unless he stayed for his senior year. Playing for UT had nothing to do with him not being drafted, heck he started as a sophomore and was a beast for us. I still don't understand how he went undrafted even with his knee issues.

That sounds like a reach. Ja'Waun James was drafted in the 1st round.

We will survive with or without him. If he wants to get on the sec championship train, he better hurry while he has a seat reserved. I'm sure CBJ has someone else we can get at Ot either from juco or from somewhere else that is offering interest. I just don't see how anyone could not see where we are headed, especially being a tennessee boy. He could be blocking for a heisman type rb or qb in a couple years, instead he is probably going to Ole Miss, where the coach will more than likely go on to greener pastures. Smh

Kid is just an attention seeker. He's not coming here unless something drastic happens

I'll bet my posting privileges that the only way Freeze leaves Ole Miss is if he's fired.

Not sure about that. If UF or someone similar was to throw 5 mill at him it would be hard to turn down.

Not everyone cares about the money as the end all be all. He'll easily make $3mil at Ole Miss (more money then he'll ever need) and he's 30 min from his hometown and near his wife's family. When you're 45 and a millionaire a couple million doesn't do that much more for you, other than having more to leave when you're gone. At some point family, friends and overall happiness play an important role in people's lives. They're Mississippi through and through and its where they want to be. When he says its his dream job I truly believe that. He's never been more than about 2 hrs from Oxford, outside of attending USM, and I don't think that's by coincidence.

I don't view him like that. I consider TG that type of character. Richmond strikes me as a kid who likes both schools and is basing his decision in the best interest of his family.

I don't think it's over, in fact I believe we get him.

If not, I wish him nothing but the best of luck. I hope he makes the best decision for him.

Sweet deer lord.. VolDango and I agree on something. Richmond is ok with being a Rebel and I'm ok with that, but he's done nothing but drop vague hints to "hold on till NSD" so he doesn't become Benedict Arnold until he's crossing the state line into Mississippi IMO.

I stopped holding onto this one a long time ago, and stuff like this makes me really think that he was recruiting for Ole Miss while visiting Neyland.

Quite possible.

This kid has a lot of work to be a college OT anyways. Me and a few others have been saying this all along. Footwork, speed, and technique are all issues. Really he's just big and strong with a nice frame. JMO
