Al Borges out....

Borges has been stuck with a terrible QB for the last two years. If Cut leaves, I say get on the phone (simply because as long as CPF is here, we are stuck with plod and trod).

This transition will end up being much more about a scheme change than individual performance.

I thought that Cut had ties to Auburn and him leaving to go be an OC over there under Tubby would help him make a transition to HC if he wanted. Cut will never be the HC here at UT so it makes some sense if he did leave.

I'm not saying it does but it does say something about his offensive teaching...
i'd say he coached this crop of kids the same way he coached Cadilac, Brandon Jacobs, Jason Cambell etc....

the difference is these kids aren't those kids.

Cut's ties are actually with Bama.

you can only do what you can do with what you have. this guy was, at one point, credited with turning around Auburn....he was the "next great thing". all the talent goes away, and it is what it is.
.

I think they finished 18 from last in the NCAA this year. He should have been able to recover from losing his threesome from three years ago, better than that.

i won't disagree, but let's not confuse the situation. Auburn has been bad offensively for two years. they had a SR QB that couldn't get it done. and apparently they didn't have anyone behind him that ANYONE on the staff thought was a better option.....so you tell me, did this guy really just become awful overnight? i agree with Lex, this is more about scheme change than anything else.
You sir, are a genius....:)
it's beauty is in it's simplicity.:eek:lol:

I doubt he became awful overnight, I doubt that he is even awful at all. But if the Vols finished 18th from last in offense I would want Cutcliffe gone. Hell, we probably finished pretty decent in offensive rankings and i still want Cut gone.

hmmmmm, I have to admit that Im a little suprised by that, but only because I didnt see it coming. I thought he was very well thought of down there. I also find it interesting that someone said it was the reaction to a mediocre season....am I the only one that noticed we have the same number of losses?

it's been a long day.....to be honest Im a little flustered today. I had to run a police officer off of the property. It was kind of crazy, it's not every day that happens. So, the Troy State guy is who they're looking at. Any news on Arkansas? My parents live half of the year in Hot Springs and my dad says he keeps hearing Petrino.

Tubberville's staff may be gutted, reports out here in Arky say that Auburn d-coordinator Will Muschamp may very well be the next head Hog.

We play them next season, wonder if this could help us or hurt us.

Thoughts?

One great thing about "Tub" is he will make changes if something isn't working out. That is one of the reasons he succeeds.

Auburn's "O" was awful the last couple years and he wants changes. Phil take notes please, sometimes change is a good thing. Especially when you lose 4 or more games per year..
