Doesn't he have a son that has some serious medical problems? And there is a special treatment center really close to TCU that treats those problems? I could be wrong though.

I remember that former Boise St. coach, Chris Peterson had a son that needed special medical treatment at one time but haven't heard this about Patterson's son.

Edit: I got jjay'd and BJHSVol'd. :blush2:

247 thinks Worley is pretty darned hurt:

1. WORLEY BIRD NOT CHIRPING (AND BY CHIRPING WE MEAN THROWING). Senior quarterback Justin Worley was on the practice field Tuesday, but conveniently none of the quarterbacks threw passes during the two practice periods open to reporters. Just watching Worley move around, though, makes it look pretty clear that he’s not even completely comfortable doing that. As expected, he doesn’t look to be anywhere close to ready to return in time for Saturday’s game at South Carolina. It would be nothing short of stunning if anyone not named Joshua Dobbs started Saturday in Columbia.

How big has the Jones speculation mushroomed? Enough that it almost took away focus from the Vols' precarious quarterback situation, which sources said will feature Josh Dobbs making his first start of the 2014 season Saturday night inside the Gamecocks' Williams-Brice Stadium.

Almost. Dobbs appeared poised to be atop the offense after his strong performance in the last three quarters of the Vols' loss to Alabama. Senior Justin Worley dressed but again was not seen throwing a single pass on the practice field. It remains incredibly likely that Worley's career at Tennessee is over.

Von Pearson and Jalen Hurd also got more work in the Vols' offense as both players are near 100-percent and clearly priority weapons in the Tennessee system.

Tennessee worked Kyler Kerbyson back with the first team at left tackle as Marcus Jackson returned to the lineup at left guard. Jacob Gilliam was at right tackle. Not on the practice field working was Coleman Thomas, the Vols' freshman right tackle who will not play this week.

Bear Bryant and General Neyland didn't win nine. They barely played nine.

Doug Dickey didn't win nine at either UT or Florida in year two. Johnny Majors didn't win nine.

More recently, Hugh Freeze didn't win nine; Spurrier at SC either.

None of the other coaches took over programs in the shape and with the difficult schedule Tennessee has. Call it excuse making if you like, but it's true. Franklin had a perfect storm of a down SEC East and atrocious OOC scheduling. Mullen had a much easier schedule both in and out of conference in 2010 than what Tennessee has endured.

Hugh Freeze is actually the closest comparison in my opinion.

Butch Jones ultimately may not succeed at UT, but this doesn't make me think he won't.

Majors did win nine at Tennessee. He won 11 in 1989... Actually had several 9 win seasons as a coach.
Or did I miss read that and you meant as a player? :hi:

Butch on rumors of Michigan interest in him: That's not even worth discussing. It's a waste of your and mine. You know how I feel about TN.
