This caller was no redneck.
He was very well spoken and very confident in his statements.
I know that doesn't mean the are true.
But, this guy was not your typical Dumas radio caller.

Yep. I heard it to. Richmond may have been playing around also like he does with KMAC on twitter when they both banter back and forth about committing to each others school. Maybe the caller only caught a part of the conversation.

Ryan: You should commit to UT.
Richmond: You should commit to Ole Miss. (Caller heard this part of the conversation.)

Who knows.

Really though, most of these "low IQ" callers are more knowledgable of the game than half of these idiots on the radio who are talking about the sport.

I don't think he will flip. I think he likes UT but won't change his commitment. In the most recent 247 article, he talks about how he likes CBJ and how the Vols are looking up. But the telling comment to me is that he says the Vols are going to be good "with or without me". If you are truly serious about flipping, you don't phrase your comments that way.
I'm not an insider, I have no more information available to me than any other poster and the opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone. And I approve this message.

I'm sure Kyle Phillips is one of them. I hate to ask this and I know I will get slammed for it but if he is actively recruiting for Ole Miss, is it such a good idea to have him on campus mixing with our official visitors who aren't committed to other schools?

Probably happens on most visits when commits visit other schools. My guess is the coaches are aware of the risk/reward of such action.

It's a calculated risk. Even if he is doing some recruiting for Ole Miss, you still bring him with the hopes that he can be swayed for Tennessee. I highly doubt Richmond recruiting Newsome to Ole Miss on our sideline is really gonna influence Newsome that much.

That was my impression, especially when Seth and Swain started talking about green grass and green leaves on the trees, which of course get really green with good fertilizer. I think they were calling it BS in their own clever way.

With the situation playing out at UNC, IMO the UT staff would have been smarter to shift their OT focus to going all in for William Sweet the minute after Richmond committed to Ole Miss. JMO of course.

If no one heard about Richmond possibly trying to recruit for Ole Miss, would you all still want to go after someone else?

I'm starting to agree. The coaches should not let Richmond carry this on all the way to NSD and burn an official visit with him in January especially if he is actively recruiting players to Ole Miss that we are also pursuing (Kyle Phillips). If he continues to recruit for Ole Miss, there just has to be a breaking point before January.

If he is trolling, he went to great lengths and traveled a great distance to do so. 2 UOV's traveling 6hrs. each way on his own dime. Don't think I would've bothered if I was trolling. A lot easier ways to do so. But what do I know? :p
