Need to "Michigan-Proof" CBJ (Butch Jones and Michigan merged)

Poll: Does UT retain Butch?

Imo Butch is a character guy. I pride myself in reading people's character. I've taught Hs for 23 years and coached football for 20. I can see it in his face, in his actions, in his speech. He is here as long as the powers that be will let him. I saw it in Fulmers eyes when he unseated johnny. Once you get orange in your blood, it's there to stay. Now, if I'm wrong somehow, I would have that look on my face from Wallace in Braveheart. The one where he discovers the Bruce is on the enemies side during the battle.

That article was completely designed to draw clicks. There was zero substance.

correct, does he even take responses to his reports or do you have to be a member?... just wondering read a few of his but wasn't any place to respond to him, unless i just missed it.

I hate the way some fans are acting toward CBJ but he'd be in the same boat at meat chicken. They haven't really done anything since CLC and that cupboard wouldn't exactly be well stocked. They have idiot fans also, same as us.

I just can't imagine the appeal of that job as compared to where he has TN headed. I know he's from Michigan but it's not like he has actual coaching ties to the school.

In my opinion if he uses it for a raise good for him, but I just cant see him putting forth the effort he has in recruiting and alum, and fan base relations to leave for a dumpster fire that is Michigan right now. I would call it a lateral move with maybe a little advantage to Michigan because its "home" but he would be throwing away 2 quality years of building to start again in the same situation.

hes not going anywhere. When youre just on the verge of putting out a dumpster fire you dont go jump into another one. People know hes from Michigan so they start writing articles like this.

The only evidence to why he would go to Michigan is the fact he is from there. Also Butch hasn't done anything on the field yet to get a ton of interest from Michigan. They want results soon and Butch isn't going to do that immediately. Idk just interesting

I wouldn't be too worried about Butch leaving. He really seems to like it a Tennessee and I don't think he would throw away all the hard work he has put in just to take off to Michigan and start rebuilding all over again.

Butch isn't even on their radar.

It's Mullen, Miles, anybody named Harbaugh, maybe even Tyrone Wheatley . . .

...everybody else.

Just don't see it happening. Butch is here to prove something and I don't think he's going to quit before it happens.

I'm sure some on here will take this the wrong way, but whatever:

Michigan's fans and boosters are going to demand a big name. They may not get Les Miles or one of the Harbaughs, but that's what they're going after. At the end of this year, Jones will have (at best) a 13-12 record as a major conference football coach. That's not going to cut it for the diehards up there. They have no interest in even considering that they can't hit a grand slam.

I'm a big CBJ fan, but If I'm the AD of Michigan I want to hire someone that is proven right now. This will be coach #3 since 2008 and the previous 2 have failed. CBJ is a roll of the dice at this point in his career in regards to winning at the power 5 level. That being said, I hope we keep him...
