So are you saying since we havent been president we can't question his actions? Yeah right.....

I think he is saying that many opinions on here are less of a political analyst informed opinion and closer
to a tree hugger/ tea bagger mouth first opinion.

Guys I don't say much when people post things about angles and things but most have no idea.

My first week of practice I was in line guarding passes.

Now in high school I was the man, 6'3" 235 AND A 4.59 40. I WAS GOING TO DOMINATE EVERYONE so I thought. My first trip through was against Daryl Wilson who had world class speed. I started back and he was by me before I could turn my hips to run. I couldn't believe it. Its a different world guys you just have to experience it to understand.

So by this logic, if all the fan can do is watch the game then they are not allowed to have an opinion on coaching, playing, playcalling, or evenofficiating really since we don't see what kind of directions and training the officials get.

So we just have to say something that is neither good or bad. Like, "the team played." "the coaches coached." "They lost" or "they won." "They played well during the game" or "they played bad during the game."

Just making sure this is what you're saying. If not, please enlighten me.

There is a difference in having an opinion and criticizing every single thing the coaches elect to do. Especially when you don't have even 10% of the info the coaches do.

We have lost to 4 top 10 teams. There is only one game that most Vol fans expected them to win and didn't. Btw, we were an underdog in that game also. Like it or not, the team is getting better at a good pace. There is a reason CBJ keeps saying process and that is because he knows it won't happen overnight but a few fans, that all seem to be here, are going to be irrational. The team is much better than last years and will be even better next year.

Awwww, somebody got their feelings hurt.

Whats really getting old is the "lets go for it on every 4th down" crowd.

Kicking is good. Field position is huge in this game but some can't see that. I do think the 4th down that AJ got us to should have been attempted but I'm not a coach and its not my decision.

No, you don't have the right to talk about angles and speed with the current players.

And as I stated in another thread, until you put on the pads and get pounded by a Top 5 team for 60 minutes, nobody on here has the right to say anything about the players on the field. And the fact is just because you played high school ball doesn't mean dammit when compared to playing against a roster filled with the top COLLEGIATE talent.

So politely keep your comments to yourself or the dog at your feet about the defense not making a tackle.

LOL @ this guy

Feel free to criticize all you want. No skin off my nose. Understand that just because you played high school football, or coach the little ones, doesn't mean you are right. Nor does it mean you are wrong. People on this site forget that a message board's purpose is for fans to interact and discuss a collective past time.

My point in bold. The idea that someone questioning coaching decisions and all of a sudden people think they don't want the team to get better??? What? Am I missing something. If the team is truly getting better as you say and which I also believe, then of course I like it! I love it! All Volunteers fans do...even the ones who think some coaching decisions and play calling has been questionable. And even the ones who don't think we have gotten better will like it if we actually are getting better.

Whether or not we are getting better is one of the things that rightly or wrongly people are arguing. But arguing that we aren't doesn't somehow make you not WANT the team to get better. It's ridiculous. Postmodernism invading the sports forum.

Thankyou! Someone who understands you can have varying views on the team ON A MESSAGE BOARD and still be rooting for said team.

Get back to us after you have created a website with a message board.

Until then, you aren't qualified to post.

The rest of us will sit here and continue to post opinions about our favorite college team and not feel the need to be the resident comptroller for message board posting credentials.

the first bad angle was the first play of the game, and no one had taken a hit yet

There are a lot of posters here who seem to think that if you aren't on the Vols team or a paid coach you have no right to talk about speed or angles etc.

Fact is a lot of us played sports on here and just didn't end up being 6'4 and 230. Just because you aren't a head coach doesn't mean you can't see if they are making good decisions or bad decisions on the field.

The you couldn't do it better comments are dumb.

Hurtful words...........

I'm not talking about a thought out opinion on play etc. just that these knee jerk posts that are just bashing a team they say they care so much about.

So, should Freak just shut the board down?

The issue isn't so much the criticism of the play or the coaching, it's all of the hyperbole and malevolence.

It has been my experience with this board that if you offer a fair criticism, support your point of view with some context and leave it at that, you get - for the most part - a similar response whether in agreement or not.

It's the people that throw out the "CBJ is an idiot because . . . and Worley is a . . . and if you can't see it, you're one too!" kinds of statements that open themselves up to flaming.

Of course there are some on every forum who are either unwilling or unable to civil to anyone in any case. If you can't handle that, you probably need to stay off the internet.

If you played hs football you probably played some teams that had 1 or 2 d1 players top. A lot of these guys were the best players on their team and now they are thrown into games vs rosters full of 4 and 5 star recruits a year later. Im ok with questioning coaches choices, but i agree that you shouldnt question an 18/19 year olds snap decision in a game. Some of the mistakes being made will cut down with experience. They will catch up to the speed of the game and will get better.
