Somebody has hacked bone's account. Too optimistic sounding...

...Wait, you weren't being sarcastic were you?

Lol not really. I need to see Dobbs and OL do what they did consistently in games then ill be optimistic :)

QB play makes or breaks you in football. Worley was our best chance of winning in all our previous games. Dobbs balled out last night, but if he wants to start here long term, he has to clean up the inaccuracy on easy throws. His ability to move out of the pocket without giving up a sack or interception is what separates him from Worley/Peterman. I like Dobbs' ability to extend plays, but I'm also expecting him to struggle some in the coming games if he starts, which he should IMO.

I believe he is going to clean up his game just fine. He will get better the more in game reps he gets.

You guys gotta think last night with Dobbs coming in and making a statement outscoring bama 20-7 helped our recruiting right? We also had no quit. Recruits can tell we are almost there, and with their help we will be pretty good relatively soon. Agreed?

You're correct Cat. IMO recruits will see this and it will have a positive impact on them. I also think the time they spend with the team will help because they will see how together they are as a team.
If we win out in the next 5 games (including a bowl) we could be seeing a much different scenario next year on how we do.

Us fans go from a low point in the season being down 27 to one of our biggest rivals to being at a high point with making the turnaround with Dobbs. Possibly the turning point of Butch's career at UT. We will be winning a lot of ballgames soon, ladies and gentlemen.

I just hope it lasts. This place will melt down if Dobbs looks lackluster against South Carolina next week.

What a lot of fans fail to realize is that Bama did not game plan for a running QB. They played two deep at safety virtually the entire game. I will venture to day that South Carolina will mix it up and bring a safety down into the box to take the run away from Dobbs and our RBs. Hobbs will have to be more accurate against SC than he was against Bama if he wants to beat them with his arm.

He will feast on their lousy defense, IMO.

No matter what though, I'm still in the Dobbs camp. One lackluster game isn't gonna change my mind.

So you're telling us that with all the rumors (since Monday) out there that Worley would not play that Bammer did not plan for a running QB since Peterman and Dobbs both run more than JW? Do you think Bammer's defensive staff are that stupid? Are you also saying that USCe's defense is better than Bammer's? Would it not be stupid to give Dobbs more single coverage for North, Malone and Pearson? You really puzzle me sometimes.

So Bama never adjusted to Dobbs???

Is Sunseri back?

I guess he thinks Saban is stupid and had no clue he might see Dobbs despite fans of both teams knowing. Heck I know Bama fans that knew dobbs was likely to play.... He just doesn't want to believe Dobbs has improved be caused he was one of the main ones claiming he had no talent last year

I think it does because next years big question mark was QB and kids seeing that there is a real talent at QB makes them feel good about their first 2 yrs on campus

This is so incorrect. There is a reason they rushed Landon Collins back out. They consistently brought pressure throughout the second half as well.

As long as moral victories bring in the recruits I really cant complain about them.

In the first quarter it looked like Saban could name his score. And Kiffin getting the satisfaction of putting up 63 something unanswered points would have led to me drinking myself to death.

But this is exactly the kind of spark that recruits need to see. That people like Preston Williams and Richmond need to see. An offense that makes sense and a scrappy team that will put up a fight.

Im very anxious to see if Josh's performance carries into the next few weeks, though I dont know why it wouldent. Alabama has a hell of a defense, much more than anything else we will see all year. And this mobile QB was able to mask some of the deficiencies on the line. Ive always felt that a dual threat QB provides so much in the way of intangibles they are nearly a requirement. So long as they are not a liability throwing the ball; the ability to turn busted plays into long chunks of yardage, like we saw last night, cannot be overstated.

Bajakian, despite a few head scratchers, also looked a lot more competent (with personnel that fit the offense - imagine that). The WR jet-sweep motion was very productive. With Dobbs mobility it stretched the D in 3 directions at once and is very hard to defend.

And that we didn't need a Dual Threat at QB...

And if it melts down?...so what? Everyone's always worried about something that's happened a thousand times! We'll be back the next week! :aggressive:

Bama sat back in a two deep cover 2 for the entire game. That is not how you game plan and defend a running QB. They played a base defense most of the night.

SC does not have the talent that Bama has. They ca not sit back in a cover 2 with the safeties deep and defend a running QB with their base front 7. I would venture that they will use their spur to creep into the box and shadow inside out on our QB and support the cut back lanes against our RBs. They will force our QB to beat them through the air. With our OL, do you really think that they are worried about our QB having time for our WRs to get deep?

In all fairness Kiffin has managed to hold the respect of some his peers on the Vols staff. I did notice an orange clad ball boy seek him out to shake his hand after the game. :)

Kid had Ebola on his hand...the Dallas area VFLs sent him that little gift :)

No worries the virus is altered...only contagious to kiffin :)

If we knew Bama knew. Problem was Dobbs attacked them downfield and stretched them vertical as well.

A bad defense will have to keep a defender at home to spy Dobbs.

North and Malone are going to see a lot of one on one coverage without a safety to help over the top. If Dobbs can buy some time with his feet there will be downfield opportunities.

Fooled me. We threw for 199 yards in the game. Dobbs hit a couple of mid-range throws. We challenged them with the tight ends down the seam a couple of times, but other than that we never really challenged them down the field through the air..
