I thought so too. I think he got us our first opening drive first down against an sec team.

Saban on how the team handled Lane Kiffin’s return:
“I don’t think it affected any of us. I really don’t. Lane’s done a really good job for us all year. The players like him, respond well to him. He’s really a good coach and I think why all the people in Tennessee are pissed off at him is because they knew he’s a good coach and they were upset when he left. I get that, I understand that, but I know that there’s a lot of really good fans here. We have a tremendous amount of respect for Tennessee, the people that support this program. It’s a great program. I can understand why they would get upset. I understood why they burnt me at the stake in Baton Rouge the first time I went back there after going to the Miami Dolphins and then coming back to Alabama. I get it. We all have fans that are that way, but I think we all have a lot of fans that really appreciate when people do a quality job. I’m sure there’s a lot of our fans and Tennessee fans that realize Lane Kiffin is a very good coach.”

Kiffin didn't seem to mind. Not sure how easy it's supposed to be to play man all year then switch to zone, but it sure seemed pretty hard for us.

I don't get why nobody publicly acknowledges that people are pissed that Kiffin left after one season, in the middle of the night, after a pitiful press conference, ignored the traditions and identity of the program while he was here, and then tried to poach a bunch of our recruits. It's nothing to do with the promise he showed, it was the utter disrespect that he showed to one of the more storied college football programs and a fan base that supported him.

That said, Saban is classier than Will Muschamp.

Hurd was definitely doing fine but Alabama is keying run there no matter whose in the backfield. The only way to fool them was a play action pass. At least with the beast package we have another blocker. Still surprised me when I saw it happen.

I think we tried a few passes to the end zone later but they were just misfires.

Hurd is just a flat out better ball carrier. There's no reason at all to call that BS.....

Marquez North: Josh (Dobbs) is my roommate and one of my best friends. The chemistry with him has always been there.


I might be reading more into that statement but I think it shows who the offense wants at qb.

You're not over reading that. Worley was a dummy for not throwing to North more. He definitely doesn't look hurt to me...

It was far from a wide margin. The last few yrs were large margins. 14 isnt a beatdown. And outside of that first Qtr we outscored them 20-7 and no Saban didn't put on the brakes at any time. If anyone believes that then they didn't see any of Ala /A'M last week. Ala was up 45-0 starting the third and Simms was out there throwing a long TD pass. Damn Fowler said Ala put on the brakes after qtr one and that was a typical bammer response.

I was switching bars and came back to see aj carrying. I assumed Hurd was hurt at first. Said the same thing, got a 5* RB who's been playing well, why do we have a slower defensive player who gets 0 reps finding running lanes getting carries?

Rewatching the game right now. Hurd gained 6 yards right up the middle before the AJ carry call......
