it'd be awesome if they brought them back w/ the white tops, but it won't happen til fulmer is gone

i posted in another thread that we should wear all orange every other year when we play alabama at home. we kind of did in the 80's and it just seemed like a cool tradition that we could have

I loved the orange pants. When I saw that I got pumped up. I would love for our team to do this for a huge game each year without telling anyone. When I saw this I thought we were going to win this ballgame. I believe it sends a message that we are focused and ready to play.

I liked them!

I got excited when I saw them run onto the field in them and didn't know it was coming.
When I saw those uniforms I gagged and almost turned the tv set off because I knew we would lose at that point (not to mention they look hideous and high school like)..

I hate the all orange look, they are bad luck too.

I like the orange pants w/white jerseys better than all white.

If they never wear all orange again, it would be appreciated by me. I'm surprised how many of you liked them, I really think they look hideous.

Having said that, it looks to me like Nike is much better at uniform design that Adidas. I'm not saying we need to look like Oregon, but surely there is some modern design out there that can articulate a white jersey/orange pants combo that (a) looks great and (b) allows the numbers and name to be easily read from a distance. From what I've seen, Adidas has no imagination on this stuff. Maybe we should switch to Nike uniforms.

i gotta speak up on this one. I'm a huge sneaker guy.

I am a big fan of Nike...but I for one am so glad we use Adidas. Everyone uses Nike....Florida, UGA, Bama, UK, etc...

I for one like that we dont follow mainstream and jump on with Nike. even all the way down to our BBall shoes...they might not look as cool, but the cool factor IS the fact that we rock Adidas.

it's old school. i love it.

Yeah, I'm definitely a fashion guy. There's not much we can do to change our unis other that the occasional all orange. Nike is ruining college football. My only complaint is if we're gonna wear stripes, then wear stripes. If not, then don't. Switching it up like that makes it look like we pulled those pants out of the "seldom used 1999 closet".

I hadn't read anything before the game about the Vols wearing all orange, so it was a nice surprise to see something special for the championship game.

It would've been waaaaaaayy more special if we had won the stinking game with the stinking all orange on... :search:

Our defense must not have thought they were bad luck, because they were hitting harder than they did all year. If we hit one of those field goals and our senior QB doesn't make two horrific reads, we'd have people clamoring to go with them full-time.

I'd like to see them once a year, at home in a rivalry game. Maybe in the bowl game if we're wearing home uniforms. That's it.

because wins over notre dame and bama in '79, '82, and '84 is bad luck. i just don't but into the supersticious stuff.

I just remember the losses. But if that is supersticious, then wins are to.

Maybe the all orange had so much glare Ainge couldn't see the LSU DBs.

Why is that?

because during the Majors era the team always wore orange pants with the away white jersey, but they haven't seen the light of day since Fulmer took over. His first year coaching was the season they switched to the white on white away uni.
