'15 NC RB Rocky Reid (Wake Forest commit)

IMO he was saying CBJ is considering that many. Perry, Phillips, Amadi, would be some I'm sure. Matthews also seemed to think Jefferson was a flip candidate. Add Vaughn as a RB they are still looking at and there is 5. "Could sign up to 6 more" could end up being 2 in reality. Just have to see how it plays out.
Martin counts as mid state as well I guess? Yeah it was up to six not like a concrete we're definitely adding six.

If Reid gets phased out that will be a huge mistake. There are guys we can let go besides him. Reid is a stud. He is the kind of bowling ball we need.

Why exactly do we need a "bowling ball"?

What does he bring to the table that neither Hurd or Kamara have?

I'm not saying I agree one way or the other but I'll trust the coaches decision.

if Rocky Reid's name was Dave Reid or Steve Reid no one would even care about the rumors he's being asked to look around.

All the reds are obsessed with thinking there's going to be a "rocky! rocky! rocky!" chant every time he gets a carry.

Or maybe they have watched his film.

Keep trying, there are still some folks here who aren't sure exactly how you feel about this kid. I think you need to keep elaborating, really drive it home.

I like Rocky Reid. Not as much as some other backs we are in on but I think he's a solid back. If we end up with him I won't be disappointed at all.

I'm just repeating what a couple of true recruiting insiders have stated and everyone is taking that to mean I have some kind of agenda against Reid.

Honestly I think he's a good player. But its highly unlikely he is on the commitment list come signing day.

The post I previously quoted had nothing to do with what Hubbs or anyone else has hinted at about him possibly becoming a casualty of recruiting numbers. Instead you took the stance that our fanbase was stupid enough to want a lesser talented kid because he has a cool name.

I honestly don't disagree with your overall point and do think that there are some things that make it look like, depending on what some other guys do, his spot could be a little flexible. However, you seem to be the only one who continues to flog an already deceased equine. To what end, I still can't figure out.

This situation is very simple if you dissect Brent and Co's tea leaves appropriately.

Brent has posted that Reid will be one to watch because of how HE will react when the staff add's a third back. Brent said that the staff has determined they will take 3 RB's in this class. Brent also said it will be important in the timing of when the 3rd back is added and WHO that back is.

I take that information and digest it like this.

Reid wants to be a Vol. Our staff wants him to be a Vol. But if Reid sees Frazier or Love, two very legit backs from his own state, added to Kamara and him HE will decide that is too much talent and will look for a place where he can be more of a feature back like he is at his HS.

The timing portion IMO relates to Love and that recently VQ was saying the staff was TRYING to get Love to push his official back and make this an unofficial. I think the staff was and is trying to delay Love's commitment to December/Jan timeframe so Rocky can already be enrolled and on campus when that happens.

It was just reported that Love wants this to be an official visit next weekend because he wants to decide before his season is over between TN and Stanford.

So the question is, will the staff take Love's commitment then knowing that Reid will likely not like it and possibly walk? They could then push for a third back like Vaughn or the TX kid who they like but not as much as Reid.

or they could tell Love sorry, and put their eggs in the Fraizer basket as he won't likely flip until close to signing day.

Does any of that make sense?

Brent said none of that. Fortenberry said something along those lines but Brent has been consistent in hinting Reid offer and commitment are very much in jeopardy.

You're just making things up because your favorite player is about to be cut loose.

I'm pretty sure EricVol hit it right on the head. Its called reading the tea leaves.

Edit: I just noticed you also used the "tea leaves" phrase, must have subliminally put it in my head.

Seems pretty clear you're the one with the vendetta here. Of the two more likely to make things up, I'm pretty confident it would be you.

I have a VQ sub and what EricVol posted is whats being said on the GQ. The staff wants a 3rd back.

Kamara is locked in. Big time talent and an EE.

Love, Frasier, Dauphine, and Vaughn seem to be the RBs. I think we stand the best chance with Love and Vaughn.

However if Rocky decides to take an OV to Wisconsin, I'm cool with whatever the coaches decide to do.

Mr. Reid if you are reading posts in this forum ,,,,,Please do not listen to any of this arm chair Coaching that is going on in this forum. They do not know any more than any other fan on what is going on at UT.

We NEED a RB like you in a big way!!!!!!!! I for one believe you will come in and be pushing Hurd for playing time from the start! GO VOLS!

I like Reid but it's pretty apparent the staff is looking to upgrade according to what Hubbs said. My feeling was Reid's spot was in jeopardy a little while before Hubbs and Fort said something. To be fair I do feel the kid will be a very good RB for someone but it will not be us IMHO.

I think Fraiser and Love are the two we would most want to add but Vaughn and Love end up being who we get and Reid will look elsewhere.

:thud::lame:

Brent Hubbs said UT was in "card trading mode". He stressed Reid was currently a Vol but the staff was looking to upgrade a few positions and RB was one of those.

I'll leave that to your interpretation though.

Hubbs recruiting info>anyone on this board's recruiting info.

I'll roll with Hubbs. He is the single most connected individual to UT recruiting that isn't actually a UT staff member.

If he says Reid is on the outs I believe him.
