The Offensive Line is Atrocious Thread (merged)

The OL will get better. No one can possibly think they are satisfied with their play. These true freshmen are not used to seeing the talent they are seeing week in and week out. Remember, these guys were playing a high school schedule the last full season they played. At the high school level, they just simply did not see D1 talent every game. They didn't need to have "perfect" technique to be effective. Their footwork and blocking technique will improve, and they were recruited because they have talent. Their talent will need to be further developed, and they will learn. Their pride alone will make them get better. Be patient. We are 4 points away from being 5-1.

Just curious

Does anyone think or has anyone talked about CBJ might simply be trying to survive this season while taking any positive lessons he can get and teaching the kids with those?

Lessons such as perseverance and giving 100% for 4qtrs??

CBJ Bingo!

You can't honestly say there is an excuse to give up 6 sacks to UTC. This OL is getting worse and they're not learning anything. Idk what the hell Mahoney is getting paid for, but it sure isn't coaching.

Sacked ever 4th pass play... when bringing 4 or just 3 rushers. Unbelievvable.

If we want to get to 6 wins ( and we do) we should not play Worley against that beast of a defense at Ole Miss. I am serious- he may get his season ended this Saturday.

This thread will be on the front page the rest of the year. May as well sticky it.

LMAO.

Edit: How can I place gifs into a post?

Not only that...regardless of his accuracy/decisions last year, Dobbs is being redshirted???? He is the only hope with this OL that gets worse and worse. But nope, CBJ wants to red shirt him. This is stupid. Side note, Dobbs will graduate next year and be off to another school for graduate studies geared more towards major.

Not being disrespectful but wtf makes you for one second believe Dobbs would make a difference? What has he shown to make anyone have faith he could get anything accomplished with even a halfway decent O-line?

This thread should be in the "no ****" Hall of Fame. Maybe even at no. 1.

I mean....OL no good...ya think?!?!?! :p

Fuad Reveiz repeatedly said it's time for these guys to take off the diapers, so at least one former player(although a kicker) has called them out. And three of the five are upperclassmen, not freshmen. Jackson, Crowder, and Kerbyson are RS JRS. They've been in a college S&C program long enough to where "they're underdeveloped physically" is not a valid arguement. They're not being coached properly by their position coach.

Possibly, or they just plain don't have the talent. There is a reason why those 3 guys never started until this year. They all look slow to me.

Next Saturday Night they have to swim with the sharks and there is no cage. I hope Worley is not injured.

Worley takes heat from all three angles not just the right. You can call the OL inexperienced or even plain old bad but the constant harping on youth is disingenuous.

And unfortunately they haven't improved much more than your posting ability. They are working on it though.

Is it fair to expect the juniors to improve significantly? They've been in this system for close to 2 years and they're all presumably fully developed men. When people keep blaming youth for the performances it creates an expectation that next season will be much better when chances are we'll be playing mostly the same guys.

oh. And thanks for throwing the personal attack in there after Freak has asked everyone to refrain from that.

Most of the Dooley recruits just hung out at the gym and didn't do any S&C..that's a proven fact backed up by player statements.

I do think it's fair to expect players to improve with playing time. Do you think they top out their sophomore year and never get better? Your welcome on the constructive criticism. I would think as much as you dish it out taking a little wouldn't be that big a deal. I'll be more sensitive to your feelings from now on. I apologize for hurting your feelings.

Duh, Butch ALWAYS points to the right side as being freshmen if you ever listen to him.

Then maybe he should put in Blair and Pair at the two tackles and move Kerbyson back to RG where he belongs. Of course then he wouldn't have the all true freshmen on the right side excuse to keep falling back on.
