The Offensive Line is Atrocious Thread (merged)

Having and inexperienced OL cannot excuse the level of suckage we are seeing. Mahoney will be lucky to keep his job, if there isn't a modicum of improvement all season long.

Bajakian has the worst job in the country. I couldnt imagine trying to call plays with these guys blocking.

These are 3* and 4* guys with SEC offer lists. Austin Peay looks more physical.

It's coaching, it's philosophy, and it's more coaching.

Oh, and the O-line is part of the offense which Bajokian is responsible for and responsible for getting some production out of.

I couldn't imagine being so incompetent in my play calling and having to deal with position coaches who can't coach.

If by "we", you mean Jones, your guess is as good as mine.

By "we" I mean the program most on this board cheer for, and as an alumnus I mean we. And "our" program is suffering from some bad coaching of the oline. And yes, that is ultimately Jones' call, but something's got to change with the offensive production. It starts with the o line. Period.

3 of the 5 all Dooley recruits... Enough said... Guy cursed the program in every way

Dooley recruits or not, these guys look like they avoid blocks. That's coaching! This was an FCS team, Dooley's recruits should be stars at the FCS level!

I'll ask again. Is coaching, talent, or experience more the problem?

Well, these are some big ol' bastards that are receiving a free education to block people.
I say throw out experience at this point.
Talent could be in question, so let's see somebody/something else then! That decision is in the coach's hands.

That is an extremely tough question to answer at this point. You have to assume they have some talent or they would not be where they are. Development is lacking but that is to be expected at this point. Most don't believe this but O Line play is very difficult to master. Experience is definitely lacking. It is easy to blame coaching but until everything else is working it is hard to say that the coach isn't doing everything right to teach these kids how to play and win. I know that is not the easy answer that everyone wants to hear.
