Since I won't pay to post a response to J Adams article on his logic for playing Dobbs this weekend, I make a response here.

The early step of his logic lost me when he said,
"Tennessee hopes to redshirt the second-year player. Then, he would have three years of eligibility remaining...As serious a student as he is, I doubt he will be at UT for five years — not when he can get a degree in three."

Dobbs is too smart to conclude with a BS. Dobbs didn't choose UT education just for the undergrad program. He is PhD bound. Redshirting is not misguided. He will still be studying at UT after his BS and playing QB.

John Adams is a snarky little douche bag. He ranks up with Finebaum in people to just ignore. Adams also encouraged fans NOT to attend the UTC game.

Adams is a buffoon who is angry that Butch made him look dumber than Heather Harrington at a recent press conference regarding zone reads. That's essentially the reason his recent video is basically asking people to stay home for the Homecoming game.

I hope UT yanks this douchebag's press credentials over this one.

The very best thing that you can do with regard to Adams and UT football is refuse to read his junk and NEVER link it for others to read.

He stays employed in large measure because he gets a reaction from Vol fans like yours. The best way to get rid of him is to ignore him.

Can we PLEASE create a sticky that tells people (since apparently it's not obvious enough) "IF YOU HATE JOHN ADAMS, QUIT POSTING THREADS LINKING PEOPLE TO HIS S***!!!!" You are helping the very thing you proclaim to detest.

He has to sell papers (which don't really sell anymore). This is something that will make people buy the paper or subscribe online. It's just a local version of Fox News...crap sells.

It may be that Adams and Fox News are the only ones who will report the crap that's out there.

It's possible that he'll go somewhere else for Grad, especially if he decides he wants to forego football and choose a new school based on an academic program of his choice.

I thought he was at UT for a specific academic program?

What's the big deal? I agree with what he said. I have felt all along that peterman really wasn't the best option to backup Worley.

JMO but it seems the Volnation bashing of John Adams had been quiet for a bit. I think he wanted to do something for attention. Why would a reasonable person encourage fans not to go to the game?

This is what I've never understood about our fans. They link these douche bags like Clay Travis, Finebaum, Adams, etc just to complain about what they write. Just stop giving them attention and they go away.

Ok, people, I think it's very well established that everyone hates John Adams. Good for you all.

The OP isn't taking issue w John Adams himself, he's taking issue with his assertion that Tennessee needs to reconsider their red-shirt plans for him. So can we actually discuss the idea like the OP intended instead of groveling about John Adams?

I don't think it's unprecedented that a smart student-athlete gives up his eligibility in order to move into the workforce. But for a potential starter on a SEC football team? I don't know much about the engineering field. Is there much value in having a masters degree?

Oh know his opinion doesn't agree with yours so let's start a thread and cry about it and call him names that will surely hurt his feelings enough to make him stop.

Dobbs got sacked 7 times last year behind NFL line in 4 and half games.Worely got sacked 6 times in 6 and half games behind that lineDobbs would be a total disaster behind this years line let him redshirt, his confidence would be ruined like Petermans. Let this line get better and then he may have a good chance to be a decent SEC QB. Put him in now and he is a backup similar to Peterman the rest of his carreer. His QBR for last year was 34.4 so he needs a redshirt year. He does not need to get behind this line. As a team we have had 18 sacks 2014 , you extrapolate Dobbs sacks of 2013 to this year at best it would be 21 thats considering he played behind a NFL ine. Just guessing but behind this line would be more like 25 sacks.

OP. Just ignore that manipulative fool. It's the only thing that works. Never read his trash, never reply on their dying website, and NEVER post his links because the unaware may think that some sort of credibility is contained therein.

The faster this old media propaganda charade dies and that nice building on I40 becomes a flea market the better for us all.

It depends on the field of engineering you're going into. For example, it's essentially a must for civil engineers who want to work in the field with a structural emphasis. The field I work in, it's not really a requirement (or even the norm) but rather the exception. Simply having a PE license says more than having a MS in Engineering, IMO.

What is a PE?
