Please elaborate? From what I can see NOTHING points that way...

Well, again I would suggest you are both wrong. The fact he is coming to campus on his own dime for the weekend would suggest SOMETHING points that way ( I guess all caps adds to credibility in that pea brain of yours). On the flip side, I'm not so sure he ends up a Vol. My guess he is still very conflicted as he was leading up to his announcement. Which is why most of the insiders from the recruiting services stated this wasn't over yet.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, weren't you the goof earlier in the thread calling me out for suggesting that Richmond to Ole Miss wasn't a done deal? Yeah, that was you. Nothing you say really matters does it? (Don't answer rhetorical question)

a. He's spending an entire weekend in Knoxville where he will get tons on one-on-one time with coaches and players.

b. People in the know believe his recruitment isn't over and won't be until signing day.

c. He has numerous friends that go to UT.

d. He rushed his commitment to Ole Miss because the day was "special to him"

e. Butch Jones has taken over his recruitment and is pushing hard making him a top priority.

f. Ole Miss, despite an impressive victory over Alabama, can't keep up the current pace they are on in the extremely competetive SEC West.

g. Hugh Freeze look like a woodchuck.

h. Ole Miss will never be true contenders in the sec west. 8-4 and third place is the best they can hope for.

i. Tennessee offers immediate playing time to talented offensive tackles. come to Tn and start or go to Ole Miss and ride the bench a few years?

j. Eventually all this shady recruiting Ole Miss is doing is going to catch up with them and they aren't protected like Alabama or Florida.

k. Richmond's mother is the key to her recruitment. She likes Ole Miss now but is she going to feel three months from now?

l. Both Drew and his father want to be at UT. His mother made the pick and we have all the time in the world to sway her back.

Also remember that Richmond's girlfriend goes to UT. This was stated by one of his assistant coaches on the radio.

I won't be shocked either way this goes.

I feel like the village idiots have lost their way, and ended up on the recruiting page.

It's hard to make fun of other team's fan bases, when I see how many idiots we have on volnation.

Yeah, remember all those idiots that were convinced Gruden would be our head coach?

How come everybody keeps saying Ole Miss has a ceiling of 8-4 and they won't sustain success in the West. But if we keep recruiting like they are that we will be national title contenders immediately. They appear to be building a great team down there and could very well be title contenders for years to come. Just because our history is better than theirs doesn't mean we will be contenders before them

Ole Miss will be competitive methinks. Just adds more parity to the west.

We play in the East...they play in the West. big disparity.

Someone in Knoxville needs to paint it for him.

I like that he's coming here on his own dime.

I'm telling you guys this will come down to NSD.

God...if they managed to *somehow* pull Richmond this class would destroy last years class. Grab Abernathy tomorrow and Richmond on NSD...even if nothing else changes (save for non-horrible attrition) we should be 2-3.

I have said for some time that he would not flip. However, this visit may indicate otherwise. First, he is coming on an unofficial on his own dime. Second, he is coming for four days. He didn't pick a glamor game to visit. Sounds like he is giving himself enough time to see and experience the school, the campus environment, the coaches, and most importantly the team. If he chooses not to flip, he did it with as much info as he could gather. I think there has been so much negative recruiting, he just needs to see it for himself, hands on. I can't even imagine the nonsense he has been told.

Yea.... if Butch pulls a guy that just happened to storm the field after his current school he's committed to dropped the No.1 team in the nation and our bitter rivals whilst hosting College Game Day then I'll spring for the ingot of granite for his sculpture we will soon erect on Butch Bridge (which is what we will rename Henley Street).

I'll be pulling for this kid regardless of where he goes. He's handled this process well, and seems to be chill.

Wish he'd stay in the home state though.

No interest in UT. Just coming down for a booty call. Gonna shack up w the girlfriend :) cheap gas and a free place to stay for a few days. No biggie.

IMO committed to OM to get the early pressure off. Wasn't enjoying the process. Think we ultimately flip him. Trust in Butch.

Per Hubbs

Memphis offensive lineman and Ole Miss commitment Drew Richmond arrived in Knoxville Thursday night and will stay throughout the weekend. The question is, how serious is Richmond about this visit? Is he in town to visit his many friends on campus or is this a legitimate visit to Knoxville to check out the Vols once again.

No one really knows but Richmond. The Vols at least have the opportunity to impress him this weekend and let him know he's still a wanted man on Rocky Top. Since his commitment to Ole Miss, Richmond has been a frequent visitor to Oxford, Miss., and it seems he's pretty firm in his decision.

Richmond had discussed coming in for the Vols' homecoming weekend for some time, but UT folks didn't necessarily believe he would follow through. Instead, Richmond reached out to Tennessee and since it's an unofficial visit, look for Richmond to log a considerable amount of time in Knoxville.

Don't know. I'm just not sure I have a good feeling about this. Almost has a Torrance Gibson feel to it, where the kid is here for several days....but nothing really results of it.

I mean, he very well may flip to UT. But, I am just not sure. Would be huge no doubt, we definitely need him. Would be great to get Ugo, Phillips, Perry and Richmond to shut down the state. But, I'm not optimistic about it until it happens. We'll see.

The kid and family have a short drive to see each other and ole miss is top 10. Then they make the long drive, the first 3 hours being pretty sucky, and get to Knoxville and are tired and see a program trying to rebuild.
I have to be honest and say if I'm in Memphis, which is where I am from, I 100% understand their position. This would be the toughest recruit to flip in Butch's career.
