Seeing how well Barnett is playing as a true freshman makes me feel better about missing out on someone like Josh Sweat. I know that guy is a freak, but I am more than happy with Derek. Just wait until we have some great DTs in the middle. His abilities will be amplified 10-fold.

Yeah I agree...Barnett is playing at a very high level...he ran down the toss sweep in the 1st quarter I believe....fast...as far as Richmond....would love to have him but I fear the MUS to Ole Miss connection is too strong....CBJ is a heck of a recruiter so we'll see but I think Richmond also likes the idea of being mentored by the Olineman there (names escapes me)

this is the perfect game to have him on campus. He and his family will have tons of one-on-one time with the coaching staff.

Top247 senior offensive tackle Drew Richmond of Memphis (Tenn.) University School, who announced his commitment to Ole Miss less than a month ago, told GoVols247 on Tuesday that he's planning to take a lengthy visit to Tennessee this week.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Richmond said he will travel to Knoxville on Thursday and stay on campus until the weekend to attend Tennessee's homecoming game Saturday afternoon against Chattanooga.
Richmond is ranked the nation's No. 95 overall prospect and No. 7 offensive tackle and the No. 1 overall player from the state of Tennessee in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class.

Also, someone asked Callahan if he was coming to the Alabama game for his official.
Callahan said he hasn't heard that. Assuming he takes an official visit to Tennessee, it would likely come after the season. Not long before National signing day.

Hopefully we can get the last visit!

Agreed

The coaching staff will make one last push for him this weekend and if he still isn't interested they will push for a commitment from Burrell. As talented as Drew is... If he doesn't want to be at UT then we got to move to the next guy. No one player will make or break this program. Instate talent should be gone after, but if they are not interested we should move on. At some point in the not so distant future it will be a privilege for an instate kid to get an offer from UT. Unfortunately, today for the states most talented players it isn't!

Unless the staff turns momma Richmond, I don't see a way he ends up in Knoxville. Proximity, MUS connections, and momma is the three-headed monster this staff is up against.

hate to break it to ya Butch will be our coach at least 3 more seasons.ut can't afford another coaching search.plus i like Butch and saturday was not his fault.the team made to many mistakes.

I don't think Butch is in trouble right now. I crtainly don't want him gone. But to say it isn't his fault we lost, the team made too many mistakes..... just what exactly do you think being the head coach involves? When mistakes add up, that's on coaching. As the head coach, accountability begins and ends with him. So yeah, Saturday's loss was his fault. He doesn't deserve to lose his job for it, but he doesn't need excuses made for him either. He's a highly paid professional. He can take the criticism.

Coaching is no different than any other profession. It comes with a level of accountability and sometimes a coach falls short. Butch is as human as all of us, and the same rules of life apply.

its over, sorry. IMO.
He hasn't even gotten here yet, on his visit. Who, then, made it your call?

This team is 4-1 if our OL wasn't depleted of talent/experience. Ole Miss is bout to find out how dangerous it really is playing in the SEC W. They will have 3-4 losses, if not more, before the year is done.

Conversely, once we get our OL situation squared away, this will be a team to be reckoned with.

I feel like the village idiots have lost their way, and ended up on the recruiting page.

It's hard to make fun of other team's fan bases, when I see how many idiots we have on volnation.
