build a statue of Eric Ainge in front of their stadium and retire his number.

Congrats to LSU

GO SEC!

they should probably add a statue of Daniel Lincoln then too.

Lincoln cost us 3 points.

Ainge cost us 6 points.

End of statue debate. Ainge gets it hands down!

Seriously though, even if Lincoln made the kick we'd still be in the same situation at the end of the game needing a touchdown. Only difference would be that it would give us the lead instead of tying. Now you can argue about how it would have given us momentum and all that jazz, but that's complete speculation.

Go LSU, destroy the Buckeyes!!!

He missed 2 FG

Yeah, but did you REALLY expect him to make the 50 yarder? He hasn't made them all year......there was no reason to expect him to make it this time either. It was basically one of those "well, we'll give it a shot but don't hold your breath" kind of deals.

It was outside of his proven range, so that's why I didn't count it when I said he only cost us 3 pts.

Im pretty sure he has made a 50 yarder sometime this season...just not sure when he did

he had the distance on the 51 yarder...

if he makes both FGs, we're only down by 1... and after we get inside the 20 at the end of the game, we kick another FG and maybe walk out of there as SEC champs.

I know it's "what if what if," but to reply to the poster about Lincoln, if we don't miss those first two fg's, then we don't go for it on 4th down and we kick a fg. That's 10 pts, we're 2 ahead. Say we stop LSU like we did, get down the field and run run run instead of pass for the INT. Maybe we score a TD...maybe not. Either way, it's another short kick, to put us up 5, maybe 9 if we manage a TD. LSU then has to score a TD, at least, with around 1:30 left, once the clock has run down from us going in for the FG.

Now, I'm not blaming Lincoln, but I honestly expect a kicker to make every kick he lines up for. It's his job. I don't blame the outcome of the game on any one person. It is what it is. Just saying, if we had the field goals, it changes the complexion of the game.

You have to consider too that if he hits even one of those field goals the game has a different feel at the end. We could have kicked another instead of having to go on 4th down, or any number of other variables. The 50 yarder I'll give you, but he should have hit that 30ish.

maybe they can score us some tickets to the game. we could sit in the LSU section and....oh forget it.

Yes, and that's why I say he cost us 3 points.

The point of the thread (like others) is that Ainge was the primary reason we lost the game. It does not matter why he had to pass or who put him in that position. That does not give him a license to make terrible decisions with the football.

Lincoln is a freshman- I don't blame him for locking up and getting the jitters. Ainge, is a different story...

Yeah Lincoln had a bad game as a freshmen. Ainge was suppose to be one of the senior leaders.

Let me see if I can pour the sarcasm on pretty thick......
Dont forget rogers and all the other receivers that dropped passes..I bet nearly every player on both teams that had playing time Sat. made a mistake. Some that cost us the game, some that wouldn't have made any difference. The coaches also made mistakes in the game.....LSU would theoretically have a lot of statues

Question- Why Denarious Moore...at that time...TWICE...cuz he can catch....He surpassed K. Oneal in potential???...or, is he one of Ainges' "boys". Just asking what begs to be asked.

I'm not trying to be an a$$, but I have no idea what it was that you were actually asking.

In Moore's defens the ball was behind him but, at the same time it was a catchable ball...

His shoulders were squared to the line of scrimmage and the ball bounced off of his shoulder pad. Definitely catchable.

Well, I was commenting, while scrolling down through the posts(which is ALWAYS a bad idea, after being "out of pocket" for a few days) on the "Ainge Vs. Licoln costing us the game, and I have been dying to ask that question. As I was scrolling down it fit, but out of place if refering to the last five or six posts. Sorry.....However, since that was being bantered about, ....why Moore, why then.....when others where open, and why subsequentially????
