You are so WRONG!! That's the one thing most people and Gators miss about football.

ONE play at anytime in a game could be the play that actually determined the outcome.

Crawl back in your swamp hole and don't try act like you know something about football!

Agree that many of those calls were garbage but I disagree on any referee conspiracy theories about the SEC and Gurley's campaign. Why do people always try and make it a conspiracy when the truth is, the refs were just bad.

We had a post winning about the fumble at Oklahoma, let it go. Game is NOT decided by officials, we dont fumble the ball in the endzone we are most likely not in that position,

Officials in the SEC are like judges in boxing. They are influenced by who is supposed to be better. UGA gets away with a few holds that UT doesn't. It doesn't seem like much but every action by every person on the field during a play has an impact on that play and every subsequent play.

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

If the officials don't let an early game hold by an UGA WR go then they don't score their 1st TD on that drive. If the late game spot had been accurate then UGA punts and UT gets another shot to drive down for a FG.

The game IS decided by the officials to one degree or another... and it might be the critical difference in an evenly matched game like this one was. Obviously good and bad plays by players will have more of an impact... but you can't really say which straw is the one that breaks the camel's back. It is all of them. The fumble would have changed the course of the game. If North had taken one more step before jumping on the previous play then maybe he comes down with the ball and races for a 99 yd TD. If one of UT's punt team guys chips the UGA player who saved the ball from going into the end zone then UT is on the 20 rather than the 1 foot line.

It isn't a denial that players impact the outcome of the game to say that poor or missed calls impact the outcome.

i actually made the statement.. wow, we're backed up on our 1 yard line. when Worley leads us on a 99 yard game winning drive, this will be the MOST EPIC hobnail of ALL time...

but alas... not to be...

sadness for that one play, unlucky -- but I love my vols. #BeatFlorida

You notice that calls go against us or missed calls? Bama would never gotten flagged before halftime when ref ran into coach. Not gonna even mention the hold calls we see on tv, I know the refs with closer view, can see it but nothing. Spotting the ball 3 yds from where he was down....I don't expect them to miss by that much. Even last yr the ref spotting the ball for bama, was about to spot ball then looked back @ first down marker, then moved ball either closer to or gave them a first. Yea its flawd. I don't believe they are that dumb...I believe its helping the top ranked team/cash cow. SEC wants power, money, and attn I believe the top teams get the refs favor more times than not. But its not why we lost!!

Subconsciously maybe, but I have to disagree that the refs are part of some SEC mafia that is out for money. If they were in it for money, I doubt they would have been refs. They are normal people like me and you. They get graded after every game and also reprimanded for bad calls.

I may have missed anyone bringing this one up but on the opening kickoff there was a facemask by the Georgia tackler on DY that wasn't called. I rewound it and watched it again and saw it. It appeared his hand was on the face mask and you could see the head jerk back toward the middle of the field. I remember commenting to my son about how could they possibly miss that given the circumstances. Not that it would have had a huge effect on the game (or would it have?) but still.

That gif makes me so mad. I watched that live earlier this season. It was on before we played later that night. The ref clearly looked right at the first down marker to see where it was and placed the ball accordingly.

The point I think the OP is making is that it would have been 4th and about 6-7yds, rather than 3. That probably means they punt.

Does anyone have a picture or gif of the Todd gurley goalline TD... Im tired of Georgia fans telling me the nose of the ball crosses the plain when there is a helmet in the camera angle. I can't find anything

Easily. Their kicker can hit from the parking lot, apparently.

But, kicks get blocked and all sorts of bad things can happen on a kick return (rarely from us, I know) if you do get the 3 and go up by 6 points.

The replay they showed in the stadium looked to me like the ball barely crossed the plane.

Yeah I felt UT got most of the bad calls, but it didn't bother me as much as usually for some reason last week.

Gurley's first good run in the 1st half went for 16 yds aided by a flagrant hold by a WR. Go back and watch for yourself if you think I'm wrong... then compare to North's supposed hold. If the WR is called then UGA probably punts or tries a long FG. Instead, it helped them score on a short field.

A bad spot in this case changed down and distance and probably the play call. 4th and 3 you know you're getting Gurley and that he probably makes it. 4th and 7... you probably get a punt or they roll the dice with Mason.

Every play good and bad by the players impacts the outcome... and so does every call or non-call by the officials.

I don't believe it crossed, the review officials said "the plays stands", which means no strong evidence either way. From the camera shot they kept replaying there was a UGA players helmet in the view of the goal-line, so I believe they didn't overturn it since it was not obvious.
