but all great coaches reach a point where they don't have the edge anymore. no single football coach has been prolific through the duration of his entire career. that's why a truly great coach is one that has the humility to realize when he loses that edge with respect to a particular program and moves on to see if he can regain it elsewhere.Agreed, those are 2 of the best coaches in college football history.
games*
from just giving away the SEC title in our last three appearances at the georgia dome to repeated embarassing losses in the peach and outback bowls to the nearly-expected ass beating we get from florida just about every year.
i am tired.
and the fact that i think we CAN do better and DESERVE better does not brand me an untrue fan.
tenure should never exist, anywhere for any reason, especially in football, where standing still means getting overrun immediately
tenure is an invention of university professors, who'd rather do anything than be evaluated on their performance and have to live up to some expectations. That say plenty about tenure. At the point someone thinks they're no longer accountable, kinda like Phil, they're useless. There are times where I think exceptions should be made. I think both coaches should retire, but I don't think they should be forced out. It isn't like both programs are awful anyways.
